Hello hunters,
I might switch to playing hunter in SL, because I love MM. Problem is I think BM is the most simplistic boring spec in game, and melee surv is meh. I miss black arrow. I could play it if I needed to. And I’m not going to main a class just for one spec so…
Am I missing something? Is there a way to make BM more complicated?
I’m not sure man if you play current mm at all and enjoy it then sure. Only thing really new for mm is kill shot. But if you plan on pvpin then you are going to feel the same problems that current mm is facing.
Surv as melee is hit or miss you either like it or you don’t. Hopefully it’s aoe dmg is noticeably better so it can be a bit more competitive. Currently most groups won’t take you because chances are a heroic BM raider vs heroic Surv hunter, the BM will be all around better. Same thing goes for mythic +. Not saying there aren’t Surv hunters out there that aren’t amazing at that it’s just that we live in the “bring the meta classes” world so a lot of people use that against survival
And then you have BM. IMO the only spec that still feels somewhat hunter. Great in pretty much everything. And since new xpack is coming that means all the pvp nerfs are gone for BM as well which means it’s prolly going to be pretty awesome in pvp.
All in all I think with the new covenant talents you will have some choices to make BM more complicated or not as easy as you mentioned. But it looks like BM will be pretty good in SL since it’s play style is staying pretty much the same going into SL
It really depends on what you will be doing really. Survival is really good for pvp, while mm and bm are better at pve content.
I push m+ lol. Not worried about not meta specs, that’s just bs. I push with a feral and we have no problems doing high keys.
Just BM is so damn boring, was wondering if there’s anything to spice it up 
The difficulty difference between MM and BM is overstated. In fact, in many aspects MM is easier.
Regardless, you are going to have a much harder time in most content as MM instead of BM.
No, that’s not BS. The power difference between BM and the other Hunter specs is enormous to the point where you’re hindering your group in high-level (>+15) keys by not being BM. Sure, you can do it, but do understand that you will be the carry in those groups.
Ah wasn’t specifically speaking to hunter specs, just the meta in general.
Ye I don’t mind having a harder time, just don’t like feeling like my pets do 75% of my dmg and I’m not actually contributing.
The number of people doing >+15 is insanely small and you can rock Surv pre 15 no problem.
Yeah I do 20s and above. Idk if surv is viable that high I’ve literally never seen one. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen one of every other spec except maybe aff lock? Lemme check raider io haha
Volley, and you regenerate focus a lot faster. I actually like MM on the alpha. It pairs nice with covenants like Kyrian and volley pair up well, and flayed shot is nice too.
Also get binding shot baseline.
Only thing I want to say is kill shot is not new. It is an old ability that was given back.
I can only speak for BM.
Its got a ton of utility. A beast to tank content in solo. Great damage. Rotation is fluid and easy to learn. Tons of beasts to go out and tame. Just a lot of fun. Which I can’t say for a lot of other alts I have. I have every class in the game besides priest at max level. The only class I would say is as fun as hunter would be shaman. But blizzard hates shaman more then their red-headed step child. So hunter it is! The Chad child!
You might like Survival then, 2 different build you can go with for M+. Though, like most class you will need the right azerite-essence to work it. There’s more things to keep track off sort of, but I enjoy that.
Well that is what being a beast master is, its a sort of “Summoner class”, the hunter is just there to support the beast and order it around.

You are actually contributing, though. The pet wouldn’t be doing most of that damage if it weren’t for the player’s actions.
