Whats considered a lot of gold now?

How much gold would I need to consider myself wealthy aside from the obvious being gold capped.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I think that 500 dollars is a lot of money. So 500 dollars = 25 tokens ≈ 3 million gold.

I suppose that 3 million gold is a lot of gold.

I had 5 million at the end of Legion.

That is the most I had and will never have again so yea maybe 3-5m is a lot.

In the millions for sure

2000 pounds = a ton of gold

Expanding this, we can find the amount of in-game gold you would need to have a ton of real life gold.

($1817/ounce of gold) * (32000 ounce/ton) = $58,144,000 for a ton of gold (RL)

($58,144,000 gold (RL)) / ($20/ Wow Token) = 29,072 Wow Tokens

(29,072 Wow Tokens) * (121,304g (In Game) = 3,526,549,888g

Keep in mind these are current, static exchange rates and the price of gold is always fluctuating with the market.

Since most of my friends and guildies are in the sub 1 million, so I’d say probably double that.

I consider myself broke unless I have over 1 million. I’d say about 2-2.5 is a lot for me.

By the end on legion I had 12 millions, now I only have 8 millions.

If you can’t afford a Longboi, you are poor.

I considered a lot of gold 10 millions+, I know there is still a lot of people with it in game

whats the gold cap at now?

I’d say over ten million. Five million can be wiped out by a single long boi.

I have enough for one token so … if you have more than that then I consider you wealthy. :stuck_out_tongue: My highest was 1.5 mil back in the day. No where near that now.

EDIT: I use gold to play the game. So wow has been free to play for me for quite some time now. \o/ It’s a lovely thing … but it’s also probably going to end soon. :stuck_out_tongue:

considering the long boi is just a gold sink so that theres less gold in the economy that doesnt mean much

Honestly I consider anything over 1M gold to be a healthy amount. most of the players I know are sub 1M and consider it a lot. I personally find im broke if I dip below 800-900k considering the cost of some of these gold sink mounts.

I bought the gold robot mount (500k) and the spider (2 million) in Legion, and bought the Longboi on day one of BfA (5 million) and somehow seem to have managed to grow my gold back up over 6 million.

I still haven’t bought some of the other blatant gold sink mounts like the frogs, though. My main gameplay during BfA has been just to try to recover the 7.5 million I spent on three mounts

I mean why would you sit on such wealth? If the game goes away tomorrow it’s just gone. You can use it for sub but also to purchase things from the shop. I guess I want to compel you to spend it while you can. \o/ Spend that wealth. Unless you already have every thing already lol.

If you never spend it on anything then 100g could be a lot. I guess.

I think it depends about your gold income that you maintain with the least amount of work.

I like being around the price of 1-2 wow tokens at all time. It is enough for basic consumable/repairs/profession boosting/transmog mania
