Whats the average dps for someone playing in retail? Also, are dps meters and such still a big part of the game? I’ve been away playing FF.
It depends.
for which content or what demo graph like raiders ,M+ dungeons ?
Yes dps meters is a big part if you wish to play high tier content
Raiders and casual 15’s
good average overall?
idk something like ~20 for JY and ~15 for a bunch of em. maybe a tad less for some of em where the flow is pretty bad.
changes for every m+ and every raidboss tbh, tough to answer.
I guess I just sorta miss wow and wonder if casual guilds still exist who can have fun and not do “tryouts” or anything crazy haha.
There are plenty of casual guilds, check out the info list on the /r/wow subreddit for discords and such.
Meters are just as big of a thing in ffxiv content that can actually be failed.
Yes, they do.
I’ve been in several over the last couple of years.
“Hard core” guilds aren’t as prevalent as people think.
meters in ff defiantly exist you’re just not allowed to talk about them.
This varies with the type of content (raid, M+, PvP), the player’s item-level, and most of all their skill at executing an efficient ability rotation.
You can get some idea of DPS in raids (less so in M+) by looking at Warcraft Logs.
Leaderboards for M+ are here: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/rankings/30#leaderboards=1®ion=1&subregion=1&class=DPS
You could filter the DPS for a specific class/spec you’re interested in and further filter the keystone level you’re interested in (although very geared & skilled players are still playing low keys to farm valor as valor is uncapped in Season 4).
Similar leaderboard for Raids is here: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/rankings/29#partition=4&class=DPS&difficulty=4®ion=1&subregion=1
Again you can filter DPS for a specific class/spec and instead of keystone level you can filter on an item-level bracket. This is only for Sepulcher of the First Ones, the most recent raid, but the older two raids for this xpac are also in the “fated” rotation for Season 4.
