What's a "project 60" Guild?

I see alot of these project 60 guilds popping up and in wondering what it’s all about.

Project 60 is a community thing where people play until level 60 and cap their characters, and do level 60 content/raids. They also try and mimc the vanilla experience to the best of their abilities (no LFG I think, no mount until level 40 maybe, no heirlooms, things like that).

Typically a streamer tells their viewers “hey let’s level old school to level (whatever level bracket they pick) and do things like they were back in that expansion!”.

So all of the viewers flood some poor RP server and they do it for 2 or 3 weeks, ditch it, and it repeats a few months later.

Here are a few things about project 60 guilds.
The Guild Values:

  1. They embody the values of Classic WOW, and want to regain the fervor of attention, interconnection, and social events that were lost within the ages. Some of these events may including running naked lvl 1 races to kill Hogger or other hard mobs, wearing pink dresses without a reason, dancing in the middle of a city naked for fun, and other various events. The overall goal is to reignite the old values, and bring back old memories.
  2. Another way project 60 guilds bring up the past is through raiding and pvp. A lot of these people farm and obtain their gear through a complex system of raiding Molten Core, BWL, AQ10 (Once Aq20), and AQ40. They do so as lvl 60’s in the attempt to garnish gear, but most importantly to have fun. It seems much of that concept has been lost to the ages.

this is actually so accurate it’s insane lol

projects like that are a huge waste of time unless you’re going for the achievement at 80. kinda enjoyable to watch, but it’s the same thing.

It’s always level 60 or 70 content and if we’re lucky, it’s 80. Never 85, 90, or 100.

P60 will be mostly obsolete when Classic launches. For now it’s like practicing for a marathon.

It is not against the rules to run people through raids for gear, nope.

I mean I don’t hold it against anyone who wants to participate, but do it on your own server or a low pop server if you just HAVE to switch servers, and don’t be jerks to the people who were already there. Is that too much to ask?

A guild specifically for obnoxious, inconsiderate, a-holes. Get off my server, we already have enough non-RPers infesting us without you people.
Don’t give me that “hurrr dere’s no cross realm!” Yes there is and even if that was the case you could go to one of the smaller RP servers not Wyrmrest/MoonGuard/EarthenRing/EmeraldDream

Pretty much a guild that streamers create to help boost them through old world 1-60 content. They’re rules and regulations in place that are said to help mimic the vanilla wow experience, but seem more likely as a means of slowing their player base down to extend the projects life as much as possible. It’s a way for them to play something as close to vanilla wow as possible and still be able to milk the player base for views. After a couple of weeks pass they will move on and the guild will disband. Sadly most of the people who invested in it end up with nothing but another character and wasted time.

what a completely random topic to pop up in my current posts. it’s funny cause technically all guilds are now project 60.
