What ilvl-ish do you shoot for for alts to prep for 9.1?
My main is a shadow priest at 216 ilvl. Aside from raid logging him I really don’t feel like he really “Needs” any additional gear. I’m primarily a raider, and only the occasional M+. I’m not planning on getting into the Mythic raid grind, so 213 ilvl is the highest gear that I’ll probably attain.
I have about 4 alts that are in the 185-195 range, or so. I’d like to shoot for roughly 200 for normal castle nath lvl.
Do you have any similar goals? What are they?
The only content my alts will likely do is LFR, so current LFR gear should suffice for what comes next.
I think it depends on what you want to do on that alt. I decided I didn’t like Fire and Arcane isn’t getting much love so this alt just runs around in Oribos. And thus her ilvl of 188 is fantastic!

I’m thinking 194 WQ items and 197 covenant gear should do the trick.

I personally am shooting for ilvl 200 on my alts. How many of them will get there… remains to be seen. I don’t see myself going much beyond normal CN, or maaaybe a few low-level Mythics on my alts so that should be more than enough.
I imagine 200 is good to go into the next patch (or around that). Usually normal raid gear of the previous patch is more than enough.

Main is 220.
Primary alt is 217
Other alts around 200.
210ish for each would be pretty good. 200 is pretty much handed to anyone who does covenant campaigns.
200ish seems to be the level for casual play, so I expect it to be fine for moving to the next content patch.
The precedent of Legion and BFA is every tier makes the new normal raid the same as the old mythic, so normal should be 226 and scale up from there with +7 item levels in the end bosses and +13 item levels between difficulties.
200ilvl is very easy achievable for most people, even casuals. I havecs 216 hunter, 207 priest, this toon who went from ilvl 170 to 203 in about a week. So 200 ilvl is good for those not into higher content but still do timewalking, world bosses, the purple caches and emissary quests which award a heroic raid piece. I have my two mains but all my other toons are 197 to 203 easily, maybe mythic zeros and 2 keys.
There always a different answer I think 200 is great because always catch up in new patch. I have 4 at 220 ilvl and a fifth almost there. I spend hours each week doing weeklies on them and that it. Work full time so can’t spend more than that.

My alt is as geared as your main. It’s a pretty good stopping point if you like doing M+ on alts.
