Whatever happened with the patch this reset, you have completely destroyed elemental shaman. Multiple players are reporting that their core abilities, spenders, lightning bolt, lava burst, and chain lightning, are all doing 20-30% LESS Damage than they were doing last week.
YOU GUYS NEED TO SAY SOMETHING!!! You’ve been completely silent on the ridiculous Pwave change, and now you stealth nerf us into the ground. Somebody at Blizzard needs to AT THE DAMN LEAST tell us that you’re listening to what is going on. Let me have fun on the spec I enjoy.

This is a major problem, I knew I wasn’t crazy feeling like my damage decreased significantly, even with like 5-6 ilvls.
I want to chalk it up to just being a bug, but between 25%ish less damage for Ele specifically and the Pwave clunkiness I’ve lost hope. I felt like such a drag all, and to think if this doesn’t get fixed I have to do M+ like this for vault as well.

So it wasn’t just me. I felt weaker but I just thought it was a new patch.

This is nuts, how does something like this go live in production? Losing 30/40% of me DPS after huge gains in gear seems crazy. Please respond

How are more people not complaining? My damage per spell cast went down roughly 25% in raid this week despite my ilvl going from 644 to 650.
This needs fixed quickly because it’s a very important time in the season - where we are trying to secure raid kills and push m+

yeah, in pvp I feel almost exactly the same. my overloads hit less, but now way we saw a 20% lava burst buff. 20% of 1.2m (my original LB hits) is not 50k. I should be hitting over 1.5m lava bursts

hopfully it gets rolled back while servers are down.

I got some nice upgrades, got my 4p bonus, was feeling pretty good. My numbers? GARBAGE in both m+ and raid even though I thought I was playing well.
Kind of glad to know there was a bug at least, hopefully it actually gets fixed though. The sims are not looking so good with the 4p bonus though, that’s a net loss over the old 2p.
I was struggling running T8 solo delves yesterday and my M+ damage was low compared to Monday before patch. I also gained 3 ilvls and the 2 piece set bonus. The new tier set is cheeks imo. We should be able to have our jackpot elementals fight alongside our regular storm elementals.
Just finished a m+, felt pretty solid so the bug may be fixed at least for me.
It’s a 17% aura nerf that wowhead datamined. Unless they report it’s deleted or blizz comments, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

I upgraded a bunch of gear, crafted a 658 cloak and got the new 2 set, and was getting dumpstered in both keys I ran. I was about to run bunch of sims today to see what the issue was. Of course they messed something up…

Did you run any last night?
Well you didn’t have to hold your breath too long since it was fixed before WoWHead posted the article.
Be nice if Blizz actually posted something about it right?
People re-gemmed, got ridiculed, dropped from groups because of this.
-17% damage is nothing to scoff at.
The least we could get from blizz is an explanation.
If you don’t want one, that’s fine. But I would like one, personally.

Yes been spamming 6-7s last couple days. I was bottom of the barrel struggling around 1.7-1.9m yesterday. Today I’m back on top doing like 2.3-2.6m overall give or take.

HawkCorrigan’s (Ele Sham Theorycrafter, Wowhead guide writer, and birb) explanation of what happened ctrl-V’d directly from the Earthshrine Discord.
"Hi Mom, Im in the internet
So what happened?
When Blizzard does pvp changes, their spell data behaves a bit weirdly.
To buff an ability by 20% in pvp only, they first buff it to 120% everywhere and then nerf it by 1-1/120% everywhere outside of pvp.
While I don’t have a degree in maths, 1/120% is … 0.83.
I think most of you see where I am going with this.
Normally this would work out in a way that 1.2*0.83=1 nothing changes.
It becomes a problem if both of these effects affect different spells.
If e.g. you wanted to buff Frost Shock by 20% in PvP.
And you buff Frost Shock by 20% everywhere.
And then nerf every spell by 17%.
Well you nerf everything by 17% except for Frost Shock.
Welp.
The fact that the change is a hotfix so its not active everywhere at once, makes it very confusing as well.
They fixed this a few minutes ago, basically at the same time as wowhead released their article.
(Those things are unreleated apart from the US work day starting, take of your aluminium hat)"
Cool, thanks for the response
