Thinking back all of my vanilla wow guild experiences were dominated by DKP. Seems like a great system, encourages people to continue to show up, keeps people invested in the guild, people can really splurge for those items they really want, takes RNG out of the equation, and most importantly there’s no question of fairness. The only downside I can see is it makes it virtually impossible to fill with pugs if needed.
So what happened? Am I missing some obvious downfall that made everyone abandon it?
DKP is still used. If you mean GDKP it’s banned.
People were tired of getting MINUS 50 DKP every time they died.

Not talking about GDKP, talking about DKP.
It’s still used. There is also EPGP.
EPGP is the best system.
DKP/EPGP are both flawed in the sense people will just hoard their points for the big items and let the smaller upgrades pass them by
Wrong there is decay in EPGP to specifically avoid hoarding. You lose points every week when you don’t use them.
DKP is a good system indeed. However, I keep hearing from people that DKP is bad for the exact reason that it demands people show up to raid… like lol, why shouldn’t a raiding guild have a system that encourages attendance?? but to some people, this is a bad thing. they want to just show up to a raid when they feel like it and have a chance at loot, even if they only raid like 1/10 times. pretty selfish
I’ve used EPGP - it encounters the same issues as DKP.
Then it was your guild’s fault for setting it up wrong.
EPGP is literally the best system that exists.
No other system is as fair as EPGP. You can’t prove otherwise because it’s not possible. So you lose this conversation.
No. Hence why very few guilds still use it today.
Very few guilds use it because it’s complicated and most people lack the mental ability to use it.
Again, wrong. It’s not a good system; it has major flaws with it. Especially if you’re looking at any sort of progression raiding.
Wrong it’s the best system.
Name the system you “think” is better so I can destroy your logic and make you look foolish.
if it’s too complicated then it’s not a good system, bro
lol
You think EPGP is the best system in the game. Your opinions really mean nothing lol

It’s only complicated for the guild leader and officers not for members. And only for initial setup.
Interesting you won’t name a better system. It’s like you don’t know. Scared I’ll destroy your logic?
A fair rotating loot council will always be the best system for progression raiding. You can spread the gear out fairly and give the correct gear to the correct classes.
EPGP allows people to store points - A LOT of upgrades will rot because people are trying to hoard their points for the major upgrades. It literally happens all the time with EPGP/DKP groups, its why people don’t use it, very few guilds run them for this reason.

Plenty of guilds still use DKP. The guild I ran Naxx with in classic did DKP. You just have to find a guild that does it.
LOOT COUNCIL LOL.
What a
. Loot council is literally the most corrupt and worthless loot system ever invented.
Yeah, let me give away all transparency and let some socially awkward nerds decide who gets all the loot based on which of them sucks up the hardest to officers or is friends of the GM.
LOL of course you are a loot council shill. I rest my case you are clueless.
