What you (players) are not explaining right

The content below is my opinion on the recently created topics regarding the game’s content.

And may have spoilers…

Ok let’s go.

Is Shadowlands another bad expansion?

Not for me. There are some points to be mentioned that, if they improved, the expansion would be excellent. BUT, some players are overdoing the complaint.

First - Torghast.

I don’t know when those players started playing WoW, but if they had a good memory and remembered the legion mage tower, which is not very old content, they would remember that in the beginning it was almost impossible to win.

I only managed to do it with my DK after a few legendary drops and with a higher ilvl, and even so, dominating the challenge.

Yesterday I made torghast with a friend, we went to level 6 and stopped to sleep. Did I find it difficult? No, it was normal for our ILVL.
I HOPE that level 7-8 will be more difficult for 2 reasons: our ilvl is low and we don’t have any legendaries yet.

That is the truth of torghast, you will complete everything … at the right time.

To complain that the powers are random, or that the difficulty is exaggerated on the eighth floor, or that it is unfair depending on the class, but having 184 of ilvl and a wrong legendary, or complaining in the forums using an alt thinking that only opinion matters and we must believe in you…is wrong.

Second - RPG style

Some players are creating topics saying they don’t agree with the direction of the game. BUT WITHOUT EXPLAINING EXACTLY WHAT THEY DO NOT AGREE TO!

I’ll give my opinion of how the world of warcraft IS NO LONGER AN RPG!

Taking the example of the Legion expansion, why didn’t we have the option to disagree with the illidan’s actions? What if I didn’t want to save him? What if, despite needing to save, I wanted to go to him and tell him some truths? What if I didn’t agree with him destroying a Naaru and after the defeat of sargeras, I wanted to join some adventurers and go and beat him up for it?

These options do not exist. We are obliged to save the illidan, pretend we understand everything he did, accept his actions after that, defeat sargeras and set him free.

I PARTICULARLY liked the history of legion and illidan very much, I agree with every action that he did… but what if you don’t agree with him ? And who at least wanted to have the option to say what you think to him?

(obviously, we cannot type something for an npc, but blizzard could create several speech options, as in a normal rpg, for example, dragon age).

Now in bfa, we had this FIRST customization with Sylvanas, being able to be loyal or not to her.

What happened within the game with this option? depending on the loyalty the players saw an extra cinema (or not). And that’s ok. Locking or opening one quest or some cinematic OR some speach according to our choice is not a bad thing.

And in shadowlands … blizzard should have DRASTICALLY INCREASED those options/features…but they didn’t. And that’s wrong…from blizzard’s side.

I believe that is what some players want to say.

What if we agree with Devos? What if we want to curse the Kyrians and join their opponents?

What if we don’t want to join the procer faction in maldraxxus just because it is “for good”?

What if I don’t want to go and save Jaina inside Torghast? I am a Zandalari DK, I remember that Jaina was partially responsible for my king dying !!!
I didn’t want to save her. What option do I have in this mmo RPG ? where do i make my choices and roll the dice?

This is how I express my discontent with the LORE and RPG of this game.

Third - Eliminate NPCs very quickly

This happens in all expansions, many players complain and blizzard does not learn. There really isn’t much to go here, blizzard really misses this point and that is clear.

They eliminated Devos too quickly, as well as many other characters from other stories, without need. And where are we going to find her now? in a voidLands where do the characters who die in shadowlands go?

Fourth - Balancing.

Recently some adjustments have been made to pvp and pve. However, yesterday, a bear-shaped druid, with 42k of life, was in an arena fighting a DH, the DH used the skill “the hunt” and the druid went for 15k of life. Both the druid and the dh had almost the same ilvl.

In another arena a sub rogue was invisible and killed me in less than 5 seconds … while I was stunned and even using trinket, he stunned again and finished the job.

Rebirth in the arena is ridiculous. You spend a tremendous burst and run out of energy to keep hitting a rose. She ends up being reborn and can eliminate you afterwards if it is a self-healing class.

Paladin being able to use bubble inside the druid’s silencing skill is ridiculous. Paladin tanks being able to use 3 bubbles is even more ridiculous.

There’s a lot going on weirdly in pvp and it’s not just this expansion …

The worst of all in the pvp scenario, is that the WoW team is known for wanting to shut up those who like pvp and just focus and make changes thinking about pve, it breaks pvp and in the end, they don’t care much about balancing pvp …

… HOWEVER THE PVE IS NOT BALANCED!
There are classes with msm ilvl taking performance from other classes at a margin of more than 40% DPS.
This scenario is horrible for pugs and ends up spreading anger with certain classes, taking away the ability of anyone to do m + in time.

Stopped reading after you compared torghast to mage tower like they’re the same thing.

I mean he technically has a point. They are both towers that give optional rewards. No one NEEDS a legendary… but it’s kinda dumb to not run at least layer one on your main.

it’s a challange. The mage tower give to you a unique visual theme for the AR. Torghast give to you less soul ash after some runs so it’s a minimal improvment…what legendary are you not creating because you can’t beat the level 8 ? NONE ! you can create all legendarys in a normal rate time by not doing ONE or TWO levels of torghast.

“oh but i want to complete it NOW”

after two weeks ?

right dude, right…

The worst thing in SL so far to me is Torghast.

You… don’t seem to know what you’re talking about. Carry on.

you don’t know what are you talking about too. So , have good day =)

We (players) appreciate your thoughtful post even though you are wrong.

Either you don’t understand the comparisons weak point or you are just really trying to jam your point across.
The problem with comparing Mage Tower to Torghast is the mage tower NEVER gave a power upgrade. Torghast gives a power upgrade for your character with every layer cleared until you’ve earned 5150 soul ash.

Your RPG points are valid (but WoW aint really an RPG in that sense) but your points on the gameplay are ehhh.

True no one NEEDS a legendary. No one NEEDS to pve. No one NEEDS to pvp. But you kind of NEED to do those things to enjoy the game. Just like you NEED a legendary to have a strong edge and be a part of a substantial part of the expac. Mage tower was just cosmetic fun, it didn’t impact your gameplay in pve or pvp at all.

The main thing about Torghast vs Mage Tower is that the Mage Tower didn’t reward any player power and was 100% optional to people who wanted to stay on top of progression.

People wouldn’t complain about Torghast nearly as much if it just gave some transmogs and other cosmetic items rather than a legendary item.

Your last point is why I expect the Twisting Corridors to go over well with raiders and poorly with unskilled collectors. The collectors who aren’t min-maxing or have reasons why they cant play well will be frustrated when they see how hard it will be to unlock everything. But that’s a bridge that aint built yet.

Cosmetic item =/= legendary that increases character power.

NOT the same thing at all. Not even close.

Listen listen listen. I know its hard to remember what optional means. But keep in mind the OP is obviously not a serious raider. For world content legendary powers are definitely OPTIONAL. It is undesirable to play without them. Downright silly even with how quick Layer 1 of Torghast goes. But keep in mind there is no content where you CANNOT enter without a legendary. Therefore legendaries are optional for the type of person OP is claiming to be.

Yes obviously for Mythic Progress any decent guild will require legendaries. But when I say optional I mean things Blizzard makes optional to participating in other content. Not the community standards.

As i pointed out in my earlier posts the difference in power from legendaries as compared to cosmetics is why his comparison to the Mage tower is bad.

Which means (ala your title) that they are in fact explaining their OWN opinion, right.

That, kinda invalidates your title, doesnt it?

It’s around 3 times longer doing level 2 vs maxed out. That’s months of grinding through that horrible content every week. Plenty of reason try and get the most you possibly can and not go back.

It also seems like it kind of undermines the whole “don’t worry about min/maxing. It’s a RPG, pick the one you like” they were pushing with Covenants.

The harder they make it for people to actually do the content, the more people will feel like min/maxing is needed.

For my part I mostly just wish Torghast was a viable method of gearing up outside the legendary. Even if they did something like tie it into the great vault so people didn’t feel they need to do it to gear up and the option was “Do M+ OR do Torghast’s upper layers”.

Also, possibly add recommended ilvls to the layers. I sort of feel like people are running layers they’re undergeared for without realizing it.

i’m waiting for a world boss rotation to create a good legendary for my dk…but the min/maxer can’t wait to get a better gear to beat all levels of torghast…right.

“oh but the mage tower is not the same”

you only beat it with certain legendaries…

“oh but the mage tower gives only visual rewards”

The raids in legion was hard at their current time and we need legendaries to beat the challanges…and the legnd. drop was RANDOM.

Now, you just need to kill some boss, do some content or farm the tower of torghast…and you all want to beat level 8 in two weeks.

¬¬ …

Cosmetic = optional
Power = not optional

Not hard to understand.

I’ve missed out on more ash from failing the mission table quests but you don’t see any complaints about that.
