What WoW server "celebs" do you miss?

I miss Swifty when he was good. He hasn’t gone anywhere, but it isn’t the same now that he kind of just is casual. I remember watching him duel sodapoppin a few years ago and it was embarassing

Not that he was ever super popular but I miss ducksauce the streamer. Not sure whatever happened to him. Maybe his acting career took off?

The “known” people on arthas are all very toxic so i wish they would just go away. Although we have had this rogue called Moddex that has been ganking us on horde since BC. He/she is a gnome rogue, most people know about them and if someone calls out Moddex is ganking in general it usually provokes a massive response. Years of ganking have made them pretty slippery though. I always thought it was fun. Havnt seen them since Legion though. Also had a gnome mage called Savagescott that used to gank as well but havnt seen them since WoD and before that not since BC.

These days a gank is just a mob packed with druid healers and holy paladins. Not as fun.

I’ve ran into him a lot in MoP. Little guy is slippery and hard to catch. Sold some ore to him once tho, wasn’t a bad guy from the lil i’ve known of him.

I miss Yasmina from Echo Isles. Very interesting guild leader xD

Guys, posting player names and servers counts as a call out. Edit out the names otherwise Blizzard will delete the thread and slap you with a Forum vacation.

A tauren on my server that ran a webcomic.

A human warrior(or maybe paladin) who was more infamous than a celebrity, but my few interactions with him were nothing but pleasant.

On Barthilas there was a night elf hunter called Saralonde, guild leader of when bored smash horde, even though the server was horde dominated i have so many memories of them bringing wpvp to us pve’rs

Back when i was on Arathor in BC Boddicca and Deathelement were well known WPvPers.

Was good times.

My old buddy was king on my old server malygose back in classic, he has the raptor mount and a leggo. So by default back in the day, people would constantly gather around him in awe.

Not really that i miss my old buddy, but that feel that leggos and super rare mounts gave others was so cool. Good times.

I mainly remember several trade chat trolls on Khadgar back in BC/WotLK era. Some were inactive long enough that when Blizz released names for the first time my old GM snatched their names. The cool kids that are still active that I used to play with back in the day are still active on the Khadgar FB page.

Even in tbc he mostly floated around 2k-2.2k, I was on the same battlegroup as him and ran into him quite a few times in 2s. Although I guess then 2.2k was like top 50 on the bg, there were definitely better warriors. When I switched to blackrock and started seeing actually good bg9 warriors like hoodrych, serennia, sonydigital, etc it was like night and day (at one point if you saw any warrior there was a good chance it was serennia piloting their account to glad)

Everyone from blackrock horde. The guilds Hey I’m mvp and sup fresh our turn baby, the pinnacle of wow

Daish daish daish

I don’t remember any server regulars in WoW, but in SWG (RIP, old friend), that was a big thing.

You had this guild full of bounty hunters that would chase after people who were recognized as some of the best PvPers on the server. I remember, one time, I was about to run a raid and I was on a planet waiting for a pilot to fly us there, and suddenly I start getting killed by that bounty hunter guild’s leader. I had an epic duel with him, and since I was a Dark Jedi, and he was wearing Death Watch armor (Mandalorian armor), it felt very immersive. I won that fight, but then I got ganked the next day by three of them, feelsbadman. At least I took one of them down with me.

I wish they’d add some bounty hunting system in this game, but not like the War Mode one. Imagine someone takes a bounty to go hunt another player across Azeroth, and it’s all a 1v1 affair with rewards and stuff. That would give some place to duels, and it’d be fun and immersive to chase someone across the world, maybe even have to infiltrate Stormwind/Orgrimmar to find them. Idk, it’d be cool. Perhaps people could get achievements, like Most Wanted, or Master Escapist, or the Obsessive Killer, or Stalker, and so build server popularity again, maybe.

We could see dumb people asking in TradeChat if they’ve seen John, and others whispering other players if they’ve seen John, and players in John’s guild charging big gold to hand John over. It could be a great opportunity for social interaction. There could even be an enchanting thing for each zone that gives a vague as to what zone they could be in.

I thought this was about legit celebrities who play wow, not weirdos online who play wow.

Mia Rose. Yes nost notorious celeb.

Dark Iron peeps from vanilla. Everlasting Vendetta, the webcomic guilds, Almightiness with his/her entertaining forum posts.

People actually care about stuff like that?

I don’t miss him at all, but back on malygos during vanilla we had a gnome named perber who completely controlled the auction house, he would buy up everything and reprice, and was supposedly at over a billion gole by the time he quit. Everyone on the alliance knew his name and hated him lol
