Hello there, I was comparing Stormwind City and Orgrimmar and realized Stormwind City is bigger. That made me think about what Blizzard could do to make Orgimmar bigger or just have more things in it. For example, there is the massive underground areas from Siege of Orgimmar that could be used. There could also be buildings on the cliffs that are unused. What would you guys want to see in Orgimmar just to make it cooler/bigger, and for RP?
I think they should expand towards the sea, having a port controlled within your gates is a huge advantage. This would fit in nicely as a Zandalari area.
A blood elf tower on the cliff with translocator could be useful
A garrison style player housing, at least near by. That way itâs not content locked and we are able to just go there with out going through a portal or FP.
I want the same for SW, and they already have a perfect spot behind the Mage Quarter.
Bold for Emphasis
It would be cool if they made little areas for each Allied-Race and also the Forsaken since Lordaeron is gone.
Both cities could do with some sort of visual change to accommodate the refugees. Other than just a few wandering Night Elves, maybe a beginning of a Nelf tree house in Stormwind.
For Org, the docks for Zandalari is a start. I still miss my Goblin Ghetto. Much Vexed that they replaced it with that stupid Allied Races hut that could have gone in almost anyplace.
An underground place for the Forsaken. Some cliff side towers for Blood Elves with an extension added on for the Nightborne. Maybe expand that entire northern end towards Ashara that is a long line of machines into more goblin housing or replace the machines and put in some bluffs for the Tauren.
Thereâs already a graveyard out front
Expand into the Underhold, all that space is just going to waste at the moment. Set up the Magâhar, Goblins, and possibly Forsaken in Blackfuseâs old assembly line and so on, Iron stars are the future.
Start carving into the valley sides for additional buildings as well as having buildings set up on the tops of the valley cliffs. Could have different sort of areas or districts above the cliffs with this, make Orgrimmar look a bit more like a factionâs melting pot rather that the Cata era fortress it looks like now.
Combine the Magâhar and Zandalari dock designs and again carve out a new dock INSIDE the cityâs walls, a much bigger one at that.
More wide open spaces. Right now, theyâre confined to the Valley of Strength and Valley of Honor, and even those just feel so damn crowded. Maybe have some NPCs in parts of Orgrimmar mumble some less-than-complimentary things about Sylvanas and the Forsaken, to give some subtle precedent for the apparently-growing schism in the Horde, instead of having it just be Zappy Boy and Saurfang.
Maybe even have some of those complainers be Forsaken, to try and avert some of the really mind-control-y stuff thatâs been seemingly going on with them and their new recruits.
They certainly need to make both, not just Ogrimmar, Suramar sized. Open up half or so for questing from like 10-60. Hell, 10-90.
It am happy they are adding that portal room for each too eventually instead of having them crammed together in an odd place.
I do love the idea of using the Underhold and think thatâd be great for Ogrimmarâs industrial might, especially added with these new Magâhar and all of the goblin designs Garrosh had them working on. Throw in some Forsaken and elven production in for good measure.
In agreeance with most others, excavate that entire rock wall and open a port within the walls. Definitely tidy up the place too, finishing all of the still under construction buildings.
I would add a few more districts too. A more open pan-troll district. Much like how Zandalar has its speakers, Ogrimmar may as well now that the two most active and successful and troll tribes are apart of it. An elven district with a mix of Blood Elves and Nightborne either separate or mixed together. Expand the Valley of wisdom for all of the tauren-like members of the Horde. Do remember the Taunka are officially apart of the Horde. Goblins of course get their little slum back too and there is a little Pandaria off in the corner as well.
Ogrimmar should be a melting pot of the Horde, especially as they make Org an SW the actual capitals of their factions, and not just defacto ones. While the architecture should remain mostly Orc by a large margin, it needs to feel like the hub of the Horde and not just the orcs.
One thing Iâve complained about a lot with Org vs Stormwind, or even SMC and IF, is that there is a lacking presence of open space for us RPers, and even others, just to sit around at. Our bars are small and suffocating, and hardly have any empty spaces and buildings to just exist as background.
Turn off flying in the city too. All cities. Unpopular opinion, but the extra 40 seconds to get from A to B wonât kill ya. Also actually makes attack and defending the city worth while again. No more dive bombing 40 people into a small room for a 5 minute kill, not even enough to mount a real defense. You actually need to fight through the city.
They should utilize some of the caverns beneath the city. The area where the Siege of Orgrimmar largely took place. More caves.
Also maybe a village outside the city walls in Durotar. Thatâs one thing about cities in WoW, plenty of shops, not many living spaces. The cities in the Witcher III were amazing with all the districts and then the more industrial/farming buildings as well as âpeasantâ villages outside the city walls.
We definitely need a dock for both boats and zeppelins.
Give us back our Goblin slums. Would like to see the Forsaken set up shop in the cleft of shadows, seems like a good place for a bit of blight and to grow mushrooms.
Itâs an unpopular opinion but Iâm all for just getting rid of the other cities and making Org and SW into mega multiracial cities.
If done right and nearly doubled in size, that would be pretty amazing. Forsaken in the Cleft of Shadow, Tauren up on the bluffs, etc. I could see it working.
We donât need to get rid of them. But making access to them less onerous would make them more useful. As much as I dislike the âlossâ of Under City, having the zeppelin dock be a portal is great.
I mean, there is a balance. Give every city portals to every city and does take away from Mages a little. At the same time, with portal âtechnologyâ available, why has it taken so long for everyone to set them up? Maybe they could expand Mage portals to include more of the secondary cities, like they have for Theramore and Stonard.
And I like the aesthetic of the boats and zeppelins but maybe expand them some? Stormwind should have a direct boat to the Wetlands. Both sides should have boats/flying routes to their major holdings in Stormheim. And, one hopes as BfA progresses, to their new Ally capitals.
Allow flight in city but have things that shoot flyers with a a one shot kill.
I mean, they sort of have that in the form of flying guards. Though itâs more of an automatic dismount and youâre just likely to die from the fall damage.
As much as Iâm all for putting up walls worth of flack cannons, Iâd rather just not allow it and recreate a bit more of the organic city.
High lord Garator Hellscream here,
First and foremost I would like to see the korkron declare Marshall law on orgrimmr and arrest the dark lady at once. From then we use the underground fortress my father built and star mining the iron and copper needed to construct our dreadnaughts and juggernauts.
Our number one priority is construction of a fleet that will smash the kul Tiran scurr. Opening up ratchetan and other natural harbors and constructing what is similar to what the iron docks are. We can even use their blueprints found in the adventure guide
I would love it if they redid all of Durotar and Elwynn Forest to be more like the modern cities Blizz is creating.
I would love it if Orgrimmar expanded out to the docks and up to the border of Ashenvale past the waterfalls.
Then they should add bigger settlements across Durotar to make the zone seem alive like the lower levels of the Zandalar pyramid. It would be so cool to see peons and merchants travelling the roads both alone and in caravans. Everywhere you go there is some sort of hustle and life.
They could do the same for Elwyn Forest. Add tons of farms and big mining settlements. Expand the mines and expand Goldshire.
Then you could add tons of quests and cool characters in these zones. Really make them feel like the capital areas of your faction.
