WoWhead says they are the next race to get a heritage armor. For me asthetics wise I am hoping the new worgen armor has a top hat! The worgens(and all of us actually) should have gotten a transmogable top hat item. Lorewise, I am hoping we see Gilneas come into play.
Hopefully the Goblin one involves us luring Gallywix to the site of an impending nuclear blast and laughing as he dies.
And then installing a leader who isn’t a selfish, incompetent, A-hole, like Gazlowe.
Pretty much what Pyro and Gavik said.
We need a corporate takeover of the Cartel by Gazlowe and get rid of that fat blob who’s dragging down our profits (and murdering his own people wholesale). Want to throw a little Mida development in there while they’re at it, cool. Thats what the Gob heritage quest should be.
Worgen heritage needs to focus on just that, being a worgen. I’d like for the quest to involve the creation of a new generation of worgen, and end with Tess and Lorna taking on the curse so that our future generation of leaders aren’t humans.
Retaking Gilneas would be the absolute dream.
Since i like Gallywix i don’t want him to die (Don’t care if he stays in charge, just not die). I would love it if we could do some stuff with Grapplehammer
I think it would be funny if in a dramatic turn of goblin espionage and scandal, all of Gallywix’s funds are transferred to Gazlowe, making HIM the richest goblin on Azeroth. As such, control of the Bilgewater Cartel goes to him, but he allows the intuitive (and groveling) Gallywix to remain his PA.
In terms of the actual armor set itself, I hope the Worgen heritage set is something akin to Genn’s master skin from HOTS. I feel like one thing that is over-looked with worgen right now in the lore is they are Gilneans first, worgen second. And I feel like their…Gilnean-ness(?) keeps being forgotten.
So something like this would work well. And The big theme of worgen is their duality. Balancing their humanity with the beast within. So imagine if, like Genn’s skin. The armor changed depening on your form. In human forms its the very classy victorian/gothic Gilnean set/coat and when you switch forms, it’s ripped and torn in places, maybe it adds big claw guards and such.
(since I cant post pics yet, here’s a video of Genn’s master skin as an example)
As for the quesline, I really hope it has to do with the rebuilding/retaking of Gilneas
I’d settle for any update on the state of Gilneas at all, honestly.
Granted, but it’s the Worgen giving up on Gilneas in favor of serving the Alliance, a.k.a Stormwind.
i would love my questline to be to resettle or reclaim gilneas. the worgen story cant really go anywhere until we have our home back
I agree, generally, though don’t think Tess and Lorna becoming worgen is necessary to it.
Initially, they were monstrous and frightening, but worgen are more or less big puppydogs who lost their edge. They were nightmare creatures that touch on that primeval fear of the dark woods.
I want to stare into the heart of the beast in a way that drinking from three little fountains doesn’t touch on. I want some inner turmoil.
~Headcanon below.~
Facing the Wolf
A lone human, bare and vulnerable in the woods, carries a dying torch.
Stalking through the trees at the edge of their vision, a great black wolf stares with blood red eyes, unblinking. It waits for the flame to die.
When the fire goes out and darkness closes in, will the lost wanderer succumb, cowering in the dark, or will they rage against their inevitable end? Will they die as prey, or predator?
Well of Balance
She cups the glimmering water and brings it to her lips, drinking of the waters of Balance. In that instant, the world grows more focused. In her mind’s eye there is a young woman, bare and trapped against the roots of an ancient tree as a great, dark wolf circles around, its eyes shining in the night.
The nearby druid speaks the sacred words. “Let the Scythe unbind that which was not meant to be bound! Let the soul master the beast, lest the beast master the soul!”
The words ring through her thoughts as if spoken from the heavens above. The dark clouds part, and moonlight cascades down, banishing the shadows. The woman stands tall and strong, and she stares the great wolf down- and steps forward, growing larger with each step. The beast steps back, no longer so sure of its strength.
Well of Tranquility
“Just as Daral’nir soothes the cursed druids who gave into the beast and abandoned balance, let Tal’doren soothe you.”
This time, she sees herself- what she used to be. The feral creature running through the woods, chasing prey and hunting in the dark… But she comes upon a lake of still waters. In it, the reflection of the full moon. A palpable wash of peace pours over her like a fresh breeze, her soul becomes as calm as those waters. The urging of peace that the moon brought was no longer met with rage. She wades into the waters- and awakens again.
Well of Fury
“Just as Goldrinn’s spirit once blessed our druids, let yourself be blessed with the wisdom of his race and the ferocity of the wolf god.”
The human steps towards the basin, gazing into its waters. Leaning down, she brings the waters of that last well to her lips-- and her vision is awash with rage. Like when she wasn’t in control- but no, this time it’s different.
She’s in those dark, rainy woods once again. Everything is twisted and distorted, like some nightmarish vision. Her childhood home was a mockery of itself- broken glass forming wicked teeth in the windows, with every bend of the wooden frame seeming like the house is trying to loom over her. Lunging into the doorway, she sees a bleeding man pressed to the corner, and a redheaded child cowering from the terrible beast that she’s become.
“No, not this place. Not again.
This isn’t what happened.
I didn’t do this.
I am not the beast that killed him!”
She turns about to face the doorway, and there stands a great, ragged wolf with fur like black smoke, roiling and pouring across the ground. Its eyes glow like two red, burning embers, echoing of hate and malice. With a howl of fury that echoes across the woods, she lunges forward towards it, her claws ablaze with pure, silvery moonlight.
i disagree, it needs to focus on how we are a gilnean first and worgen second
I only think Tess and Lorna need to become Worgen because I’m not under the impression that an 80 year old man who fights like he has a death wish, and a 50 year old man with depression are long for this world. I’m fine with a future Queen Tess of Gilneas, and leader of the Gilneas Brigade Lorna but if they’re going to be the racial leaders of the worgen, then they need to be worgen.
Embracing the worgen form doesn’t diminish a Gilnean identity, or at least it doesn’t have to. But the player race is worgen, and blizzard has created circumstances where the worgen will be gone in a single generation. Either something gives and the Gilneans willfully propagate the worgen form, or the worgen player race has less staying power than a handfull of void elves who at least have the advantage of being long lived.
Two things:
1.- I’d love to see HotS Greymane as a Heritage armor.
2.- It’d hurt to see Gazlowe go full Horde but considering as how he just chose a side with them in BfA it’s time to face the reality that he is team red now.
I can actually see Gallywix finding out and being a bit peeved at Gaz for his involvement in the whole Grizzek thing, challanging him to a duel using his A.M.O.D. and Gazlowe using his exo-suit (the one he uses in HoTs) now upgraded with Azerite, and inevitably winning due to Wix’s incompetence.
I feel like Worgen should be something related to the early Third War era. Specifically either the whole ‘nobles hunting Worgen secretly to keep our people safe’ or ‘something something civil war remembrance’. Both seem like especially strong points for them. They could do something related to the Second War or Cataclysm in regards to rejoining the Alliance.
For Goblins, maybe collecting something from Kezan. Perhaps a scenario that emphasizes for Goblin tendencies for one upping each other (with mechanics and business), while also stressing their general cooperation in the Horde. Capability for good.
i want my questline to be about reclaiming our home, its been 9 years and the worgen story can’t really go anywhere until they have their home back
Well I was going to say that a goblin questline where you get to punch Galliwix in the face for a few hours would have been acceptable, but better ideas have been stated already.
