What would you do

Howdy fellas,
I am just wondering what y’all would do in the following situation at launch,

I have Thursday/Friday off that week for a long weekend and have been granted a half day off - would you use that half day off to be home and hour after launch on Tuesday, or would you use it Wednesday afternoon to extend the already extended long weekend…

A couple extra points - I get off work at 4pm and i work from home both Tuesday and Wednesdays so no time wasted on commuting to/from work!

TLDR would you prefer to log on an hour after launch Tuesday or extra long weekend from Wednesday afternoon to Sunday evening and skip the first 4 hours of launch

After, definitely after. The back half is going to be more productive.

Use it on wednesday. Not only will it be overly crowded on tuesday but there’s always the possibility of downtime, multiple server crashes etc.

yes that is my selfish desire lol, for a miserable first couple hours of launch so i get to log in pretty much on time (it could be a disaster but i for some reason can’t see it being as bad this time around) - i think layering is going to allow for smooth launch

Definitely save that half day for the Wed. Personally, I’m not taking any time off the first week.

  1. That weekend is Labor Day. A LOT of people will be taking advantage of the 3-day weekend.
  2. It’s the start of dove season that weekend so I’m offline that weekend anyways.
  3. Saving the time off for as late as you can will decrease starting zone crowd issues, login queues, etc.

The first day might just be queue’s and resets anyways.

And if not just picture 500 people chasing Quillboars or Goretusks etc for a day till people spread a bit.

yup i agree - i think based on the replies i use it wednesday afternoon - just join into the tuesday mess once im home from work after supper and enjoy the chaos

Use on wednesday - take the 4 and a half days straight.

I have the whole week off so I can be frustrated on launch day.

Dont break it up and take the extra day to hype yourself up like muhammad ali and come in swinging

Also remember - North America gains access to World of Warcraft: Classic on the 26th of August, monday, @ 3pm.

is this true?
this is the first ive heard of this

*edit to add :

I found the folllowing n blizz site :

*To align with other regions, the Americas will launch slightly ahead of August 27 in local time.
** To align with other regions, the Americas character creation will occur slightly ahead of August 13.

      • what the heck does that even mean lol

That they are launching it at the same time across the world.

Go the official wow notice and look at the map they have there of when the launch happens for different time zones.

The release is happening based on Paris @ midnight as its center

Which means the servers will open @

3pm PDT west coast
6pm EDT east coast

I didnt expect it to change anything about what you were doing with your schedule however I feel like I should inform as many americans as i can we start monday

(The America’s is the whole North and South american continent and includes all of us. MURIKA is only a fraction of The America’s as a whole.)

you are doing gods work  - thank you very much, CanaDUH is also included

If you’re going to have to work on Wednesday after taking the time off on Tuesday, you’re better off having the time off on Wednesday and starting after the bleeding edge wave has passed already. It’ll reduce the stress on mobs just a little bit.

Then again, I’m a fan of block holidays, not little bits here and there.

No, no, no. Remember, layering is there to prevent that from happening. It’s the “perfect” solution for launch day instability. There will be no crashes with layering…
