What would you do if the next expansion... took place on our Earth?

How would you react?

Let’s say a portal is opened and the ‘Maw Walker’ steps foot onto our planet? Would that be jumping the shark for you or would you be interested in such a move?

Garbage. What makes it possible since Denuser writing is also garbage.

Now I’m afraid.

It’s an RPG staple, going back to the 1970’s.

They would never base an expansion on something not Warcraft so it’s hard to entertain the question.

If there was a justified story-hook that enabled for telling an interesting story that builds upon the lore of World of Warcraft and allows for interesting dungeon and raid concepts, maybe.

You’d have to pitch the entire concept before I could judge it.

Be shocked that they foreshadowed it all the way back in BC with the girl from England.

I’d be totally onboard if I can get a 1967 GTO Judge mount.

They could make a raid “Battle of Detroit” with the final boss being a doped up crackhead.

Still the best WoW themed ad.

WoW hasn’t made any (at least) marketing crossovers that broke continuity with the game world/lore so it’s a fat chance. Besides some well implemented references or the obvious murloc pet. Unlike, and far less than, a certain popular competitor :upside_down_face:. But if it did? Gotta be honest: I would gladly raid and liberate a little place that rhymes with “Forth Borea,” Suramar style. The final boss would be both hype and likely underwhelming.

It’s impossible, with the current lore, for the game to have a crossover with anything. In Warcraft, there is only one “main” universe, and the others are alternate timelines of that universe. There aren’t any completely independent universes.

Which is a shame. I unironically would love to see Blizzard take the FFXIV approach and just go full fan-service and introduce some “semi-canonical” cross-overs, namely with the Diablo franchise.

FFXIV having their “Datascape” which includes digital recreations of other universes Omega has traversed to as a way of including both Final Fantasy 5 and Final Fantasy 6 is FFXIV is just nuts to me. Having both ExDeath and Kefka as end-of-tier raid bosses in their MMO, it’s so insane. People can say its low-effort, cash grabby, whatever, but personally I think it is epic as heck.

“Put on this mask for 25% disease resistance.”

“Your quests aren’t paying out enough, find a better quest.”

“Why aren’t people doing our WQs for lousy payouts? See, people are lazy and nobody wants to quest.”

This world is crazy enough to live in, I don’t want to pay $15 a month to visit.

Which is funny since the Nexus is a thing.

If the portal comes out of the back of some nerd’s gaming rig, that would be pretty sick .

HoTS is 100% non-canon, unfortunately.

our toons would beed to be able to wear masks

The entire expansion could be trying to avoid COVID and the only loot could be face mask transmogs!!

I’m already playing this game and quite frankly, I’m over it.
