My son and I are going to roll up some characters today on a RPPVP Realm. We have played warrior/priest but want to try a new team. What do you suggest for both Horde and Alliance, thanks!

My son and I do mage/priest. That’s for questing.
But having a tanky character could sub for the priest.
My own main is a protection paladin so it’s easier for us to find groups for instances. But I don’t mind using my priest healer at all to run instances with him.
For the Horde: shaman / druid
totems heals hard to kill combo
My main is shaman and spouse runs druid.
Best combo we’ve played yet.
Oh and for pve we only need to call out for three dps and we’re gtg.
Tank and heals covered.

We play on PvE btw.
All combos work and are fun on pve. Not sure about pvp.
Paladin/Warrior is pretty boss.
SPriest/Warlock would be brutal and just destroy stuff at higher levels.

For Horde, I’d say warrior and shaman. The warrior feeds off of totem buffs and the occasional heal. My brother and I level fast with this combination.
For alliance, I’d say warlock and paladin. Those two offer a wide range of utility and survivability. Also, they both get free mounts at 40 so gold management in the early game isn’t as important

Lock/rogue
Hunter/lock
Hunter/shaman
warrior/pally
All tried and tested
For the alliance make two paladins and name them George and Karl.

Honestly, any duo combination works. Even hunters, who are known for being the solo class, can have an easier time as a duo. (BTW, I’m not talking about speed runs, just an easier leveling experience)
I’d recommend just playing whatever you want. Maybe factor in classes that fill multiple rolls if you plan on doing dungeons. It’s really nice to already have the tank or healer when forming a group

Druid Sham works wonders. Early mobility, easy to get dungeon groups, buffs all around. Only real issue is rolling on same gear till 40
Hunter druid works well, but rolls on same gear till 40 as well
Rogue lock would be a nightmare WPvP combo to play as. Stunlock, fear when stuns miss, by the time they manage to escape stunlock the dots alone would kill them. Plus two scoundrel/amoral chars RP’s well with the classes

Any duo will be awesome, but I recommend two different armor types, as a general rule.
So not like, a rogue and feral druid, for example.
Gonna throw in a suggestion for hunter/druid.
Hunters can dish out a lot of damage and the druid, if built a mix of feral/resto, can support nicely. It also has a nice RP element to it 
My old Army roommate and I are running Spriest/Warlock. So far it’s been a blast!

Warrior/Paladin.
You will strike fear into many.
Warrior or Rogue + Shaman = Healing and melee enhancing totems that both use.
Druid + Anything = Druid is a mega versatile class depending on build. So if one of you is playing a druid, they can just adapt their build and playstyle based on what the other person is playing.
Shadow Priest + Warlock = Shadow Weaving combined with two classes that are heavily shadow based means crazy fast face melting time.
Warrior + Mage = Warrior tanks while mage frags. The classic dps and tank combo.
Priest + Mage = Both classes can dish out a lot of damage with their gloves off. With mage water, priest doesn’t have to hold back. And priest’s PW: S on mage means no longer ever having to worry about kickback.
Honestly, there are a ton of different options. What counts is finding a pairing where each have different roles that compliment each other.

If you plan on grouping it’d be fastest if one of you were a tank. So Warrior + ??? or Druid + ??? or Prot Pally + ???. If you’re just doing solo stuff it doesn’t matter as much.
Really it comes down to what you want to play as. Mage + Mage I think would be a great combo as you both help each other with kiting and nova damage if you go frost. You’d be competing on gear though later on.
