Hunter is my favorite class… if you had the chance to world pvp as a hunter with 3 other hunters or as 2 warriors and 2 healing paladins what would the game play be like? Pros/Cons
Big thanks to those who reply
Post script… fighting in hillsbrad is where I spend most of my time… grieving lowbies til 60s show up to defend… big group wars ect ect.
The comp with 2 healers would be better in a vacuum, simply because of the healers.
But a vacuum doesn’t account for fun value. Imagine mauling down someone with just 4 pets while all the hunters /lol at them. Sounds way more worth it to me for the fun value

Stacking hunters sounds pretty dirty to me for world pvp. The range means your victims are gonna get ganked without much of a chance to respond.
If it was a BG I would say otherwise but you’re not talking about BGs. Hunters are great gankers even solo. Put 4 of them together? You don’t get the chance to heal the damage. You just die. If you want to be cute all 4 of you can queue up aimed shot and say “NOW” on discord as you send your pet in. Your victim is like “Huh” oh…
Then repeat for the next person. I bet you can kill 2 people before they even know what’s going on.

How about 3 hunters and a druid ? That’d be better imo. High mobility and heals along with a couple extra cc.
Hunter is a very fun class to wpvp with. First off you can track them. Secondly you can aimed shot snipe when they have mobs on them. You can eyes of the beast your cat in stealth and kill em lol.
How good were healing druids back then? Interesting idea.
as a hunter who use to actively did defensive wpvp and happened to be friends with a 3 hunters and we’d often end up defending same areas… when we were together, everything just died, especially during certain expansions or patches, when our spec choices or talent choices would line up, so then it just got sad for enemy players, such as when things like Stampede was op such as during MoP, having like upwards of 20 pets mauling players to death simultaneously, or 4 Murder of Crows dots on you, or getting hit by 4 piercing shots, or nuking a group of horde with 4 barrages, 4 (8) glaive tosses… then when it comes to upcoming Classic, unfortunately no real “fun” talents for hunters, since everything is plain random shots, but it’s still pretty deadly.
But in all honesty, running 4 rogues or 4 feral druids is probably best for the most lulz and efficiency in killing. plus stealth is a plus, and 4 druids also can deal with larger groups due to the off/self healing.
Druids are fantastic at healing in wpvp, the best imo. They can heal and when they get attention they just…run away. Are you going to chase down a druid while her friends are killing you? Bad idea right?
For bg a paladin is probably better due to sheer tankyness but a good healing druid in wpvp is near unkillable. Unless they have a group of hard cc. Plus roots, bear charge, pounce? , I’d say they are the best wpvp class to have in a group for overall utility.

Used to roam the fringes of TM/SS fights with another rogue at times, occaisionlly with a third. If we all popped the same target at once there was virtually no chance of survival.
In this scenario, your hunter group would take a casualty but if your paladins were quick, their group would not, and may even turn the tables.
In wpvp id take 4 hunters over almost any other class. 4 hunters doing arcane shot, auto shot, multishot is going to simply kill any single player. You can chase with aspect of the pack and can track. Also unless you are trying to block blackrock mountain or something you likely wont run into full groups of the opposing faction.

4 hunters will always be funner because you can chain trap them, using kite to reset DR. You could do this infinitely without killing them. Theyd alt f4.

Until it runs into a few skilled pvpers…

This thread again… ? Go with a warrior, paladin (or a druid), priest (or a druid), and a second DPS (your choice). Stacking four of anything is silly!
While 4 hunters would be funny for 4v1 situations or even 4v2
The 2 war/2heals would destroy 4 hunters in a 4v4 situation. The war/pally combo could take on groups much larger even.
An even better comp could be 1 war, 2 hunters, and one healer pally. You want your best player as healer though because they will likely get focused.
I’m fairly confident four Hunters rolling Aimed Shot will one shot any player in the game if they fire at the same target.
That said, once players get in range, the setup could run into a lot of trouble.
An updated idea… go with a resto. druid, a resto. shaman, and two hunters (for max. mobility, innervate, buffs, totems, traps, etc.).
My dream 3 man WPvP team is
Warrior.
Mage.
Resto druid.
The warrior will be doing the heavy lifting. The mage provides control, and the resto druid will likely never even be touched since high mobility
4 hunters mean 4 aimed->auto->multi-shot combos at once
and 4 pets wailing on the enemy’s healer; they’ll pretty much be silenced if they’re all broken tooth
The guy is playing with his wife and two daughters, so the likelihood that they’ll excel at WPvP is low (he’s already on record for stating that they suck at the game).
