What will you be giving away to random strangers?

Or be receiving?

You know, that moment when you’re hanging out in a city and some Joe Schmo walks up to you, opens Trade, and slaps down a stack of E-Z Throw Dynamite? And when you don’t immediately accept, you get the pleading whisper “Just take it, I’m trying to level up my prof”?

Prolly stacks of food for ppl just to clear bags. I always loved gathering up fish and other meats but ended up having just sooo much that it made more sense to help people out so they didn’t need to spend more money.

Hopefully a blood plague.

Realizing that probably won’t be the case, I’ll be giving away enchants left and right while leveling the profession high enough to craft myself Smoking Heart before abandoning it. It’s worth the bit of extra time and effort rather than just re-enchanting my own gear over and over.

I used to drop 8 stacks of food into the trade window of the level 60 rogues with alphabet soup names who used to randomly come up to me, open trade with a couple of gold and whisper “food”.

I didn’t hit trade, I just put it there, walked away, went to the bathroom, played with my dog, etc. You’d think they could have had one guy in the sweatshop farm gold with a mage.

Always gave out Healthstones to lowbies when sitting around town. Was as close as I could get to giving out buffs to passersby.

Level 5 wands to every new mage/lock/priest until my supplies run out or I have to go.

Likely mana potions.

Ok good, was hoping I wasn’t the only one planning on doing this.

I loved giving 1 copper to the dips that were asking for 1 gold every 2 secs. Then trolling them and saying i DID give you a gold.

Random drop greens/crafted gear to lowbies who look like they could use them.

Back in 04 when i first stepped foot in ironforge on my nelf warrior, another warrior came up to me and told me he was going to craft me new gear. He proceeded to craft me a bunch of new mail pieces and traded them to me and didnt want any money in return.

So i figure I’ll keep that going and pay it forward and set people up with free gear or potions or whatever as i level up my proffessions.

Mankrik’s wife’s location. Or how to get Tirion Fordring to tell you his story. Or, if I’m feeling really generous, where the Neru fragment is in Wetlands.

Probably low level bags. For baby characters, even the 6 slot bags are significant.

And before I’m enough of hot stuff to be able to farm the cloth, I’ll be advertising “friendly tailor will make your cloth into bags”.

And I shall return the favor!

When farming lower level instances for mats (cloth or enchanting mats) id offer free runs to players either for experience/quest or gear if needed. While it would be a bit slower, it was a good way to help out others and even made a few good friends in the process.

I remember spending a day running scarlet monastary multiple times with a guy/gal who was farming silk cloth on their 60. I got everything that wasn’t silk cloth. It was awesome.

There’s a gray item you sometimes got as a rogue when you pick pocketed. Whenever anyone would ask me for gold I keep some to trade them. I miss giving away empty wallets.

Plus heart for a good name and nostalgic beer

Fort buffs! That was probably one of my favorite fly-by things to do as a priest.

On one of my warriors, her RP persona was an aficionado of alcohol, to the point I had most of her bags in the bank full of every kind of booze I could find - including some that were a bit interesting to obtain (like Gordok Green Grog). I liked randomly giving people the more common ones that were easy to get, and starting booze parties. (In-game drunk dungeons when people’s screens are so blurry and their characters are weaving all over.)
