Do you think there will be big changes to evoker / dracthyr in the next expansion ?
Are we going to get glyphs? Cool mechanics? Unlock other classes than evoker?
I have a least of things I would like to happen for dracthyr/evokers:
- Soar does not have cooldown.
- Soar is castable while moving ( I really want to soar midair)
- Soar does not go away upon landing (that way I don’t have to recast it if I’m farming herbs.)
- Toggleable permanent visage form ( I can only use so many toys to hide the pain)
- More dracthyr dragon armors and color variations (some of our tier sets don’t even match current dragon armor >.>)
- 40 yard range
- Tank spec (we’re dragons, or dragon adjacent anyways let us tanks)
- Rework Devastation so it feels like it devastates some things.
- Rework devastation mastery (please stop nerfing mastery already)
- Nerf aug so it only dps gets support (right now it does too much and will consistently be on a tier of its own. And no, I don’t think adding more support specs will fix the issue.)
1 is coming already. 8 is unnecessary because it really does devastate. 9 is likely to happen but it will be nerfed again regardless.
Soar still has a 10 second cd, it just starts as soon as you launch. If you’re out in the world picking herbs, you’ll feel it. Keep in mind Blizzard’s favorite class is also getting dynamic flying and I bet it will be instant with no CD.
Disintegrate channel with the occasional rng proc feels bad. Give me the rank 3 or 4 focusing iris spell from BFA for the ability. Thins like that. For deep breath, why not have me leap up in the air toss the biggest fire ball you’ve seen in designated area that leaves it scorching. IDK. Just a thought.
I’ve seen a few iterations of what people would like for a new mastery. One that stuck with me was doing more dmg when the enemy is above 80% and below 20% and for the in between use Dragonsrage.
Any thoughts of what you’d like to see?
Considering I only stop for special nodes and will likely just use a mount while gathering (since we can gather while mounted) and won’t notice much of a difference but using soar just to fly around from one point to another over even longer distances than we currently can.
As for the gameplay, that is subjective. The single Target is pretty slow and relaxing but the AOE is very explosive and a bit faster. The damage is definitely there already and managing burnout products just gives more Mobility options and damage to feed into the causality gameplay loop.
As for the mastery, the best suggestion that I saw was to have it function like our season 2 tier set where spenders do an extra % damage as a DoT and either removing the 4 pc functionality or having empowered spells extend the buff rather than overwrite it.
Currently, I am mostly waiting to see the Hero talents for Dev because I would love for a red build to be viable and if Ruby Adept does it right, might get that as well.
Ian said we would benefit from all the dragonflight perk, so possibly gathering as well.
Sounds cool.
I mostly just want some changes to QoL for devastation. I like the way it is for the most part.
I think it should have unlimited base speed mobility. Hover can just be a lunge and speed boost. It’s the only thing that can justify the spec being 25 yard range to me.
I also think they need to give devastation another passive defensive. Like a passive shield gen through damage, or random shield proc like the S1 ring. Or access to Defy Fate. Still just feels so fragile to play. On top of that it feels like you don’t always have enough talent points to spend on the defensive talents when utility is needed.
That’s a good segue into the class tree. There are simply WAY too many redundant talents that are required. We don’t need 4 different talents to buff hover. Bake some of those in together, or make them baseline. Also why should azure strikes 3rd target need a talent? It doesn’t do enough damage to justify that. It made way more sense when Azure Strike used to hit up to 6 targets on the beta (we should go back to this)
Reduced threat generation, or a threat drop ability. Doesn’t matter how much they nerf the mastery, i can still rip aggro if i don’t wait 5+ seconds after the tank grabs everything.
At the very least, the 10 second cooldown now starts when you cast the ability, rather than when you land. It is no longer something you’ll realistically encounter as a regular roadblock.
What’s funny is there’s a couple shoulder armors that absolutely exist somewhere in the game’s files that they just never bothered to add.
1st and 4th dracthyr
Nerf Aug if blizzard does nothing is going to be meta all expansion
Please for the love of all things, blizzard do something about the mog situation. I have SO many armors that I can not use on my dragon and the built in armor at the barber is not cutting it. I hear they use AI to adjust helm sizes to better fit races. Screw it just do that for dragon bois and gurls. Idc if it looks like a Mr. potato head, atm I’m just a plain potato.
Rant over
One of the reasons come next expansion why I’m benching mine.
I’ll be doing the same, the race especially comes across as very unfinished compared to every other race. It’s fun for now because they have the spotlight of the storyline, but once that’s over all their issues start to really show.
Is this confirmed? I havent checked the PTR but I could have sworn the CD started upon landing.
I cant post links on forms but if you watch the vid they dropped for the patch notes, it does show soar CD start ticking after take off, so feasibly if you air airborne for 10seconds you can take off again after landing.
devastastion is great wdy
As of current ptr, soar’s cooldown starts immediately on launch, though the issue where you randomly lose speed and basically stop while soaring still persists.
I was hoping the new soar would not dismount you upon landing. That will make it unfeasible in PvP situations. It would also be nice if it was instant cast. Once again druids have it best, it seems.
Yeah some of this was in the concept art in the Dragonflight art book too. Along with a chestpiece that has a gem in the center and isn’t ingame.
