Trying to find a new main for classic and was wondering if anyone still remembers
rmp/destro l$d clearly the winners at the end of s8 with pve gear available.

hunter dk hpal, WLD, TSG, african turtle cleave, double healer warrior, preg pal cupid, reggie cupid. there are a bunch
I think there were quite a good variety of comps in general. phdk, beast cleave, jungle, rog/sp, ele/mm to name a few were pretty solid.
sp hunter/lock hunter also
right, there were so many comps available to play. I’d say Wrath had a diverse selection of comps that were viable. I remember EU players were even saying comps like Feral/mage/healer, feral/sp/healer, and arms/aff/healer were viable too depending on how good the players were. But at highly competitive ratings in s8, I think it boils down to just a select few.

obviously there are some standout comps but wrath prob had the widest selection of r1 viable comps of any expansion. it pretty rock paper scissors like if you play a warrior into a mage team and you are running without a healer with dispel it can get rough but you can still win. also individual skill is far more impactful on the outcome of a game in older wow. i bet you will be shocked at the variety of comps you see at all rating.

I can’t speak much on those comps because I personally haven’t experienced endgame PvP in Wrath as vividly. I know a lot of these comps have been strongly influenced by private server experiences too, so it might not an accurate reflection of what we might find in the Classic meta until atleast players start acquiring smournes.
I can agree with the fact that comp viability was a lot less selective to say the least in Wrath, which made it really enjoyable given that class design was extremely appealing as well.

Pretty much everything was good in wrath.
I had a lot of fun playing RLS in seasons 6-8. aff/ele and ele/destro were good from s5-8. DK comps were king in s5-6. Double healer arms warrior was oppressive in the later seasons.
Plenty of comps are competitive
Warrior/Ele/Hpal will be a terror especially later on though, get rdy to complain about that eventually
