What We’ve Been Training For

Why is this quest not a daily?
I see no harm in changing it.
10 PvP wins would give some people reason to actually log into the game. Namely myself who has no other pet achievements to work towards.

I quit pet battles at 300 ish, not even trying for the last fifty. Facing the same guy for hours/weeks/still, and not being able to beat them did me in.

Add some brackets or mmr to face the same skilled people would bring me back.

Then there is the family pvp achive which sucks the fun out of battles.

Then facing store bought pets, yup, this is a great endevor to start…NOT.

I’d recommend not starting to anyone. And tell em to go collect mounts instead… Just my opinion, and pet pvp experiences.

I’m sorry to hear that fun (and victories) proved elusive to you in the PvP scene.
Alas, not really the point of this post.
People who DO enjoy PvP need a couple more carrots at the end of the stick. That’s the problem.

You skipped my carrot, and dismissed the post as me not enjoying pvp. Even the teams, that’s my incentive.

It should be a daily, rewarding pet charms, and from the pet battle guy in boralus/dazar’alor

This may have been a hurdle in past xpacs, but the current meta has never been more well-rounded than it is today.
When a 289 speed Dragonkin is the best PvP pet in the game, you know it’s a great time to be in the queue.

lots of misconceptions here:

first and foremost, (pvp) pet battling is not really a game of skill, but rock paper scissors. of course there are some better or worse comps but many matchups are unbeatable unless you specifically counter it, and then there are teams that specifically counter you. just the nature of the game.

second, your problem is queueing into the same guy over and over again, adding brackets would increase that problem tenfold, you will literally divide an already very small group of players. not a bright idea.

third, there are few store bought pets that are actually considered strong, I’d consider none OP (all have their weaknesses just like any other pet)

anyway thanks for your not so well thought out opinion, cheers!

@OP I like the idea, pvp battles need more incentives

Family Brawler is a game of rock, paper, scissors. That’s why its addition irritated a lot of people.

There is skill in PvP pet battles- creative comp building, clever use of abilities, predicting the opponent, etc.

Although, if you play smart, the advantage you gain over your opponent is only small. The only way you can really “dominate” an opponent is if they dont have blue pets.

The pvp pet battle queue is just at the irritating length to be bored waiting but not enough time to do anything. As such, I only pet pvp during the pet weekly (and am still working on the family familiar achievements for that). I apologize to everyone that faced the “three fast rabbits” for critters (that’s almost as annoying as a three photosynthesis… which annoys me too much to run usually).
