What was your favourite Class hall?

Heyo. Just, you know, a breather from the normal threads. But I was in Dreadscar Rift and got thinking.

What was your favourite class hall? I don’t care about what your least favourite one was, or even the order. Just, which was the one you thought was the best one and why?

For me, I adored the warlock class order. The Dreadscar Rift was pretty cool, not the shiniest order hall, but the lore of us stealing it from the Legion was pretty cool and setting up our order using demons we stole from the Legion.

The intro was also really cool. Meeting up with the Black Harvest, being captured, Ritssyn dying only for us to revive him, Cladyus choosing to join us despite us being the under dogs.

The artefacts were pretty kickass too. Scepter of Sargeras’ intro was probably my favourite, we got to wipe out the remnant of the Shadow Council from vanilla, interact with the Book of Medivh and the Eye of Dalaran, and got to stick it to Gul’dan himself, ruining his plan on the Broken Shore itself. The Affiliction weapon, my personal favourite weapon, also had cool intro even if it shared it with other classes, what with us seeing ghosts and how Satiel became powerful. Skull of the Man’ari was meh, it was just Felsoul Hold with people talking to us.

The campaign of us gathering the various members of the Black Harvest and restoring it to power, I grew to like all of the members of the Black Harvest. As Kira pointed out, it would’ve been easier to replace the missing members, so I like the feeling that the warlocks had formed a fellowship among each other, even if they don’t particuarly like one another, they’ll at least stick up for each other.

I even enjoyed the class mount quests, even if requiring the Legion invasions was a bit annoying, I respected it’s references to the original epic mount quests, and seeing Mor’zul Bloodbringer again was swell.

I think my favourite follower was Ritssyn, who I believe is supposed to be the most powerful of the original six. He represented the Black Harvest at the meeting of class orders, was one of the few named NPCs to appear the Assault on the Broken Shore with a portal to the legion ship, and was the chosen warlock follower to represent the order in the Artefact draining ceremony.

So, basically, I loved pretty much all of the warlock class order/hall. It really reinvigorated my love for my warlock here, which was peetering out a bit.

If I had to limit my post to the mention of just one Order Hall, without a list or without complaints…

Druid. Especially after Pathfinder was Unlocked. It was one of the few you could fly around in from POI to POI. The way the Druid teleport was changed was great - access to more zones and travel through the Dreamway.

It was pretty.

I’m a bit divided on the matter, as the way the question was phrased was more about the hall itself and less all that goes on with it.

Overall, I’d have to pick the Hall of the Guardian (Mage). The hall itself is lovely to look at and feels like the perfect place for a mage, with magical doodads (portraits with moving eyes, constructs/elemental guards, floating books and lamps) and study everywhere.

But if I were to break it down (which I will), I preferred the Death Knight campaign story more because we got to do plenty of Death Knight things and hash it out with ol’ Bolvar again.

For artifacts, it’s a bit of a tie between Paladin and Druid because hey, Scythe of Elune and Ashbringer. I’m also a sucker for Titanic stuff, so going to the Tomb of Tyr and hearing this sent chills down my spine. It felt like my character was stepping into ancient history, to somewhere truly sacred (especially as a human).

I didn’t do all of them, but I enjoyed Skyhold (warrior) the most.

I’m a fan of anything titan related. I liked Skyhold’s appearance and layout. Orderly and regal (if that makes any sense).

Vrykul are also one of my favorite races. I liked the similarities between Odyn and the Lich King in vrykul culture. A god that rewards his followers after death, with a terrible penalty for failure (being taken by Helya compared to becoming a vargul), was familiar to them. It made their decision to join the Lich King seem more realistic.

The campaign itself was enjoyable. Rallying the Titan’s forces on Azeroth, seeing Ulduar and the Keepers again… I wasn’t fond of commanding the Keepers (too strong to be followers), but I got over it. Also, with Odyn being the leader of the Valarjar, it didn’t feel as strange leaving the order hall to do quests. My character led Odyn’s armies, not the whole organization.

The way Skyhold tied into other storylines was fantastic. Stormheim, Halls of Valor, Naglfar, Kvaldir world quests, and Trial of Valor felt like additions to the order hall campaign, not side quests.

I really liked the artifact quest for Strom’kar the Warbreaker, to find out that the ancient evil that Watcher Tyr, the inspiration for the Silver Hand, died fighting was kept in its prison by a last act of defiance from the Barbarian-King of Stromgarde was pretty grand.

Ah I forgot to mention that. Strom’kar was definitely the best of the three even if the warswords looked cooler.

I do mean the entire hall/order.

There are things I think other class halls did better than warlocks, but over all, I liked the warlocks’ the best.

Just to keep it to our favourite.

Yeah, I kinda wanted this to just be a “what did you like best” and not really wanting people to talk about order halls they didn’t like.

If there was something about the order hall that you liked the best, that you didn’t like, you can absolutely mention it. I just don’t want to see why “insert Order Hall” was the best, but “insert Other Order Hall” was terrible.

Shaman, i think that it was pretty damn metal gathering the 4 elemental lords and plus, and their class mount was the best.
i hated the rogue storyline and mount :stuck_out_tongue:

Predictably, I loved the DK one. It contained almost everything I would like to see in a non-pure evil undead plot.

The paladin class hall and, ofc, the death knight one.

A lot of love and effort went into light’s hope chapel and while the acherus merely had a new coat of paint, it was pretty convenient.

I also liked that the DK quests allowed you to kick liadrin in the teeth and offered some minor RP options that made all the difference- as not everyone favors the ScourgeLite approach that the forsaken usually go for

Of the Halls that I completed the whole story, I’d have to go with Shaman. I love the lore and aesthetics of the class and the history of the three artifacts.

Going to each of the elemental planes and effectively selecting the new Windlord and Firelord was pretty cool.

My only gripe with Shaman was gettin’ Magatha Grimtotem as a follower instead of bashing her skull in.

Demon Hunter’s order hall felt the most natural for the class, although to be fair they’re the only class whose starting quests mesh directly into the class hall quests. DKs kind of come close to that. While I like the update Acherus got, Acherus was never a place I felt strongly about.

Visually the Warlock’s class hall was my favorite. Warlock was the second to last class I got to 110 and I felt bad about that when I actually got there because it was just so neat looking.

So many great class halls, and like so many other great things from Legion, BFA threw them all in the trash.

Most thematically perfect: Druid, It’s big and green and in the dream.
Best Nostalgia: Monk (Wandering Isle), so fun to go back!
Most efficient: Priest, since it’s a single tiny empty room you can get your business done super fast.
Personal favorite: Rogue (Dalaran Toilet), I think after complaints Blizz gave this one extra love. It’s got the most little things going on of all of them, and I personally enjoy it and it’s secrets the most.

I didn’t really think much of most of them, but visually I liked the shaman hall’s giant whirlpool in the distance.

I’d have to go with paladin. They just did a united paladin order with a secret church batcave so well.

Honorable mention to monk for the nice aesthetics.

Mage hall for me. I loved the aesthetic of the place. I still periodically go back there just to wander around, despite no longer having a real reason to be there.

Overall I’d have to say the Shaman order hall was my favourite. I liked uniting the elemental lords through the quests and I love the Maelstrom and how it just feels like raw elemental power every time I am there.

I liked the Priest hall for obvious reasons, but the story was lackluster and I felt like it could have offered so much more considering how much great priest lore there is. It didn’t feel like both shadow and light were represented equally, but the shadow side with those towering dark candle pillars were incredible. I also loved Xal’atath as well as the music which is my favourite of all the order halls I’ve been to. I personally would have liked to have seen more representations of the Light, like references to An’she or Elune but it is still a close second for me.

I also really loved the warlock class hall. It’s amazing to see the pit lord’s corpse strung up for all to see. I liked that. it had really distinct areas dedicated to each different kind of demon.

The Demon Hunter one was pretty neat too.

My favorite was the Druid order hall. Giant trees, green grass, flowers, streams, waterfalls, and wisps flying through the air. The lore of it is that the druids made it to resemble the Emerald Dream as closely as is possible in the mortal world, and it felt like that. I wasn’t wild about the Scythe of Elune being a Karazhan and Dark Riders story. There was nothing druid-y about that, even though I like the weapon itself. The Claws of Ursoc, Fangs of Ashamane and G’hanir all had great druid stories though. And I enjoyed how the campaign dealt with the Emerald Nightmare, while also weaving in Malorne and Nordrassil. It gave added emphasis when I ran Darkheart Thicket and Emerald Nightmare. All in all, I thought it was great.

Of the other order halls I did, I think my second favorite would be the Demon Hunter one. It’s kind of not fair since they also had the Demon Hunter starter experience as a precursor, but I thought the story of both the starter experience and the order hall was put together very well. I also liked that I was based in one of the Legion’s fel ships. That big star chart in the main room was pretty cool.

I think I had issues with just about every hall. I can probably find something to rant about for each one. I’d enjoy ranting about them, too. Really get the vitriol pumping.

But if I had to pick one that I think was the best, I’d have to agree with Warlocks. They’re class hall was just awesome. I loved that we stole an entire army of demons. I loved that we had some of the most powerful Artifacts from a lore standpoint. I loved finally seeing the rest of the Council. I loved that we got to wag our bum in Mephistroth’s face.

I think my only complaint would be with the over all campaign. Gathering the rest of the members to recreate the council was neat, but that was kinda it. Sure, we got to enslave the Twins, but I felt like the ending was a bit of a let down.

Kinda like how the Deathknights go to all the trouble to re-create the Horsemen, and then they really only do like one thing.

The journey felt awesome. But the destination was kind of bland. Like a wild car ride that ends with an awkward lunch.
