What was wrong with the Shrine portal to Pandaria?

Jade Forest has got to be one of the most inconvenient places to put the Pandaria portal. Seriously…why???

Blizzard likes to fix things until they are broken. That Azsuna portal is ROUGH

There was literally no reason to change the portal locations other than to spite the players.

Blizzard wants to push us all into the two capitals. Not sure why.

Sure to consolidate the portals I get that but why change their destinations? Why not Legion Dalaran instead of Azsuna? Why not Shrine instead of Jade Forest.

Just feels SUPER spiteful since the previous destinations were MUCH more convenient.

I’m pretty sure this right here was their goal. After all, that extra time spent flying to Shrine is more time on their metric, sensibility or player goodwill be damned.

That’s really what it feels like. These devs don’t want to show ANY goodwill towards the players. At all.

There were already portals to the Jade Forest, because it’s the Pandaria start zone. They moved those to the portal rooms and removed the Shrine portals. Which honestly feels more spiteful, when the lesser-used portals to Jade Forest could have remained where they were and the portal room could have the more convenient portal location.

i mean legion dalaran we get a hearth stone for…

I’m such a newb that all this time I haven’t noticed the hallway beneath the Orgimmar portal room to CoT.

I’ve literally been flying from Durotar or the Silithis portal.

That way when they remove the other remaining capitals people won’t notice.

No idea.

It’s odd because I remember the quest chain to unlock that place and allow our factions in. Granted Garrosh blew it to all hell with old god energy, but I mean, I didn’t do it.

Because for some reason, they removed the Jade Forest direct portal from the Pandaren section of Sw and Org. Genius I know.

Intentionally adding inconvenience, having abundant portals everywhere shrinks the world and contributes to it feeling more like a game and less like a world to get immersed in.

It’s a hard thing to walk back on, but it adds value to stuff like mage portals and teleport items, it’s inconvenient but so are some aspects of real life and like most MMOs WoW is meant to be experienced as a second life to an extent.

It was a better portal room than the Orgrimmar one, so it had to be purged arbitrarily to justify this decision that NOBODY ASKED FOR.

Then those ports shouldn’t have existed in the first place. It’s one thing to claim “bigger world” or whatever way they want to spin this but once you give us something you shouldn’t take it away. It really feels spiteful.

The portal to Pandaria was always to the Jade Forest though.

My favorite is the ‘City of Mages’ not having portals. :upside_down_face:

Screw us for being able to choose our portal room, right?

Like I said it’s a hard thing to walk back on, but I say cauterize the wound no matter how bad it hurts. I don’t think the game should strive to become totally like classic, but both versions can learn and benefit from each other’s philosophies.

Personally the biggest such change I’d love to see is for them to remove group finder at some point.
