They did throw us a bone, in letting us reserve our prefered names, but now that the day has arrived, and we were assured that the stress tests were successful, and the servers can handle all the people that wanted to log on, and as of now, even the lowest pop server has a 45 min wait time. Did they get our hopes up just to laugh at our futile attempts to log in, even in the RP realms? After all these years, I should have known better. I took a 6 month break only to come back and waste my time.
Odd. First post like this tonight.
If only others had been posting this very thing, then we would all be aware of it.
Your first mistake was thinking the stress test was an accurate indicator of how many players are actually going to be playing.
The point of reserving names was to reserve names.
do streamers wait in queue? virtually every single one is in.
do they skip it?
I think they might have misunderstood how many people wanted to log in for this.
i logged into the game client at 4:34PM CST.
I was already at 12,000 in the queue.
I am currently at 6203. and it shows 6 mins remaining.
It is now 8:57PM CST.
WHAT THE HELL.
why not cap the servers for oh whatever the capacity of the actual server is and not have to deal with this bull?
wouldn’t suprise me
I reserved a name on Herod then switched servers because of Q’s. Now I don’t have my names and I’m sitting in Q on another server…
Right. I abandoned all my reserved toons and just joined one of the new servers. Still got the same names, and no queue time. Works for me.
My subscription will end before I get into this damn game
It’s okay. I don’t think you will have much competition for the name Neckface…
This que boss is hard. Please nerf.
I had thought that the name reserve idea was to get a feel for how many people were planning on logging on today, which is why they started to add on more realms, and then even more realms as the day progressed. It makes me wonder what level of incompetence is going on with this company sometimes. Most companies will listen to their customers and get a figure on how the product is received, either the response is way too much than they figured, or they are incompetent, after the BFA launch, which was acceptable, I thought they had figured this out.
Yeah. That’s completely f’d. They put out shiny ads “reserve your names!” While saying launch will be smooth, then rolled out new servers way too slowly and asked us to risk our names to move to fix their problem, then you do and this is what you get. That’s insane. Pathetic.
Did you honestly believe that reserving a name only gave you priority? Sounds like you over read the expectation. Reserved my names, sitting in que from 9800 people. Enjoy looking up your playlist from 2006 lol watch Machinima etc. its will pass, you will live
Looks like it, all I see on FB is people streaming classic, almost taunting us. They probably give preferential treatment to these streamers to drum up more business, just like back in 2009 or so when thousands of accounts were “hacked” to drum up business for the authenticator.
It’s just odd how EVERY major WoW streamer magically skipped queue
Man i thought ESO’s launch was bad but this takes the cake for sure. Imagine someone who’s never played this game before or played with blizz games before. What a terrible first impression this would have on them.
