Everyone knows moving slow feels bad, it feels so sluggish going from base 10% run speed to 0%, The talent is far too deep into the tree to be worth taking and its 4% for 2 points.
Even warrior got single point 5% run speed node, at the very start of their tree no less.

Yea… and here I was hoping that it’d get buffed. Would be cool if they made March of the Legion baseline.
Does it really matter? You can now get both tigers lust and either celerity or chi torpedo I feel like not having wind walking isn’t really that big a deal.

Gonna feel so weird. I have 130% base movespeed. Hope they’ll have crafted items you can put movespeed on again. I gotta go fast!

Getting access to speed will be a non issue.
Enchanting has speed enchants for cloak, chest (agility users), wrist and boots. With a full maxed out enchanter making these all these enchants together equal about 15% movespeed if not more because I didn’t even try to optimize it on beta.
Windwalking was fun for groups with a lot of melee. But now it has much less group impact than the other two aura nodes.
As much as I loved the 10%, it was just too much of a cakewalk when it came to challenging mobility in combat.
Although I do agree with some aspects of the nerf, I was anticipating some compensation with something else into that talent like reduction to slow effects, etc.
surprised they didn’t take more away.
Balance is necessary, monk dps should be average OR have some form of counter play. One button k.o’s shouldn’t be a thing.
Yeah. It should not have gotten nerfed. Monk are supposed to move fast because of their training. Plus we should also get double jump since monks and ninjas are known for it

There are several well know bugs across multiple classes causing one shots on beta rn. No need to panic.
Kinda. Depends on how much you value high consistency vs burst. WW is a spec that doesn’t lack for burst mobility to begin with.
I’d gladly take base 130 or 140 move speed over not having to choose between Tiger’s Lust or Celerity any day because the higher the consistency of our mobility the better off we are. Imagine druid mobility + ours.
Monk mobility is def better in most scenarios, transendsnce/tigers lust/roll is insane very few fights in the time I’ve played has required me to utilize al three fully. And most of the time you need the burst movement anyways lol. Jailer/rygelon/skolex/pantheon/lihuvim to name a few this tier, having these burst movement cds has def been more useful then the small movement speed buff our ww gave.
I rolled this Monk for DF because I like fast moving classes with flexibility. For whatever reason I’m starting to regret it after seeing some of the nerfs. All that aside I’m excited to try everything out when the servers come up and hopefully I shake the feeling that I developed after reading the beta “balance” tweaks for monk. I feel like Brewmaster is weak and MW is decent but currently getting focus fired by Blizz. WW seems fine but I have had a lot of problems getting a build together in the base tree that doesn’t feel like I lost something I wanted to pick for something I didn’t want but is a “must have”. The movement speed for instance IMO should be way up in the top of the tree.

Why average?
Warrior, rogues, and mages have been op since day 1 decades ago
Here is the best part, my plate wearing, shield carrying warrior now has higher innate run speed than my leather wearing Kung-Fu master “Windwalking” Monk… Warrior can grab 5% run speed with little, pretty much no sacrifice…
Seriously what sense does it make to stick a spec defining buff near the bottom of the tree on a dead end node… Windwalking should be 5/10%(2pts), an easy grab near the top with no damage node competition… Or! Crazy concept…leave the windwalking buff out of the tree and just give it to…you know…Windwalkers.
Anyway you spin it the movement speed node in the monk tree is a dead talent… Very few if any are going put 2x points in it at the level of the tree.

Lol, who cares if your warrior can run slightly faster, in most raid scenarios that warrior is gonna want the move cds the monk has, and I wouldn’t consider that move speed “spec defining” it’s a small movement increase that’s hardly noticeable at all tbh, whether you have it or you don’t. You know what’s really noticeable? Having both tigers lust AND chi torpedo. It’s sick A F
So you think the movement speed increase node (Windwalking…) is in a good place on the tree then? I agree that tiger’s lust is awesome… Has nothing to do with what I posted.
Yeah the original Windwalking buff has nothing to do with the Windwalking spec…
Lol I’m saying it’s not a large part of its identity. Had they taken away fof or something like that maybe.
I think it is in a good place, they also could’ve just removed it tbh or kept in on ww. I’m saying is that it doesn’t matter, it’s hardly noticeable and what monks are getting mobility wise is so much better then that minute thing we lose
