What was the big announcement, Not just the patch for WC3 and Remaster was it?

I am just curious is that it was that what all the hype was for? Everything else that was mentioned I think was more then obvious already to most players. Or was it the hint of player housing(yay…). I am just not sure if I missed something or not.

they pretty much just did a nintendo direct, no actual big announcements but rather a hodgepodge of smaller announcements that didnt warrent a blizzcon but were big enough to be more than a blue post

Clearly not by much if that was it. I thought it was supposed to be something big(at least that that was what all the hype was saying). Disappointing for sure. Would have loved to have see a new game. WoW is outdated and they pooched WC3 long ago.

As already mentioned in countless other threads on the subject, many cool and big things were revealed.

Undermine is a location that has always existed in the Lore but has never been explored, so seeing it come in future patches is cool. Also, the “fast and furious” ground mount mechanic is just dope.

The remaster of Warcraft 1 and 2 is huge for many of us who played those games when we were young.

And Player Housing is something that many people were begging for (myself included) and it’s huge.

“Classic Classic” is also interesting. Pandaria Classic is cool but was already expected.

Oh, and there is that Warcraft X Starcraft Hearthstone crossover. Hearthstone has a huge playerblase, so thats big too.

Note also that this wasn’t an event like BlizzCon, Gamescom, etc. It was just a livestream for the 30th anniversary of the franchise. So, it was to be expected that they wouldn’t reveal “huge” things (although what they did reveal was pretty big).

The more relevant things will probably be announced at the next BlizzCon, Or something like it

All in all, not bad. Not super insanely poggers, but not terrible either.

Clearly not as many “cool and big” were announced if there are countless other threads on the same topic.

I played those games and after WC3 reforged I have zero faith in a remaster of a 30 year old game. That is not big news. Companies do them all the time. Definitely not worth a massive event.

For every person “begging” for this there are probably hundreds who could care less. Most times I hear from players about this is that if you want player housing go play FF14.

Panda classic, everyone knew it was coming(thus begins classic dying off like it did before). Cata was kind of the start but Pandaria was when you really started to see it.

So other then a new city there was really nothing. Sorry.

Other than the things you don’t personally care about?

I guess we’ll make sure to let them know to make an announcement trailer just for you next time.

Thanks! No sorry there was really nothing that most players would as very big news.

Your opinions are your own and not a representation of anything.

Most reactions I’ve seen to the announcements today have been overwhelmingly positive, even in this cesspool of a forum.

“If we don’t count the things I personally don’t care about, they didn’t announce anything!”

It was nice to see what the future of TWW holds and that we’re finally getting player housing. It was a Warcraft direct when we already know what the next 2 expansions are. They were never gonna announce something Earth shattering, especially with how far our from Midnight we still are.

Warcraft 1 & 2 Remastered is also nice to see, though the upscaled visuals just feel off to me for some reason.

Funny I have seen the opposite with the exception of a few people cheering for housing.

So in other words, you just didn’t like what you saw and are “cherry-picking” reasons to try to convince others who liked it to “dislike” it.

Don’t get me wrong., There’s nothing wrong with not liking something, no one is obligated to like everything.

But understand that your opinion is personal. And that your opinion doesn’t define what the general opinion of the community is.

There was a quick flash of a roadmap of when the next few patches will come out.

It puts to rest any lingering doubt about whether there will be an 11.2 or not (it will comes in the summer, shortly followed by the formal Midnight reveal. And it looks like Midnight will not be coming next year (which makes me feel a little less rushed to finish some of my TWW goals)

There’s a curious triangular hearthstone on the timeline at the end of next year that I guess we will get to speculate about for a long, long while.

I agree and the same goes for your opinion. My thoughts and opinions are shared by many in my community of friends and people I know playing. Sorry but it was disappointing to a lot of people. Many also do not come to the forums to share their opinions on it.

The player housing is a big one for a lot of people, but here is the 2025 roadmap:
https://www.wowhead.com/news/world-of-warcraft-2025-roadmap-revealed-the-war-within-and-midnight-expansions-350503 (which also confirms warband camp collection, so likely more camp locations)

And the twitter post with some other things that includes the confirmed player housing:

No dude. FRESH Classic servers was the big announcement…duh. Are you not pumped? /s

It was nothing that we didn’t know was coming, other then pointless housing in the next expansion.

Sorry, but the player housing is HUGE news. It’s like when they announced transmog and collections. This is a massive change for the game.

Wasn’t really a livestream tho. Every segment was prerecorded.

I’d rather see a stream of their recording than try to listen to them all around the “uh” and “um” between all of their sentences. lol
