What UI Addon are you using?

I’ve been using ElvUI for basically as long as I can remember, and recently - I’m growing more and more disappointed with it’s performance. I don’t really use any other major addons, other than things like RareScanner, Details, GTFO and DBM… I’ll be honest, there’s probably a lot of QoL addons I could do with but, never really felt the need for them.

As much as I have always loved ElvUI for it’s ability to move components around the grid and position stuff where I want, additional keybind features and the likes - I’m also quite tired of having to reload my UI because a boss/world button doesn’t show, or profiles get jumbled up on updates and I have to re-move stuff around.

So what other alternatives to ElvUI are out there? Is there even anything as fleshed out as ElvUI?

TYIA!

I’ve been playing for 13 or 14 years and I’ve never changed my UI, I’m just too used to Blizzard’s UI.

Bartender4 for action bars
Shadowed Unit Frames for unit frames
Plater for health bars
IceHUD for HUD

Monitoring because I’ve been having the same issues. Little things that are annoying and add up. Quest items not working off the list, sanctum hall report button not showing, nameplates or fonts randomly changing their settings. Have had all kinds of just weird issues this expansion.

Dominos, Chatter, SexyMap, Grid2, Simple Objective Hider, move anything (when it works) and titan panel.

elvui and dbm. no need for anything else

My UI is custom built and runs about 47 addons to maintain. You can make a UI look like something that does what ElvUI does, but it’ll take a lot more addons and a little bit more unpackaging.

These are all great suggestions, but if there’s another “all in one” options, I’m WAY more interested in that one addon than having to update multiple ones, or set them up when first installed. Something with a community of sharable layouts would be even better, that I can get some inspiration from I suppose.

Also this, yes - all of this. So tired of the simple mechanics of UI functionality not working as intended. One thing I haven’t tried as of yet is a full ElvUI reset and new profile. I wonder if that might remedy some of those smaller issues that do actually mount up to a larger problem.

  • [Shadow Unit Frames] For all Target, Player etc Frames.
  • [Bartender4] For customizing action bars and setting hotkeys easy.
  • [Quartz] For casting/poison,bleed cooldowns and to keep them centered where I can see them.
  • [Moveanything] To move Buff and Debuffs above my chat bar where I can see them easy, to Resized and Move my Quest List to the Bottom Right of my screen.
  • [SexyMap] To Resize the map and make it easy for my to see better and remove weird border that distracts me.
  • [Threat Plates] Fixes the small Health Bars over Targets, lets me see Bleeds etc better and can see my Threat better.
  • [OmniCC] Count Down numbers but with Colors so I notice better [At least for me].

That’s all I can remember from the top of my head but I think that’s all of them UI based or something of sorts.

  • Carbonite which redoes the quest log, map, and minimap buttons
  • Bartender4 where i manage most key binds
  • TitanPanel mostly for currencies, network status and fps

I’m the opposite. I’ve played for over a decade on and off, and I only just recently switched to Elvui for Shadowlands, and I’m loving it.

Before I used:

  • Bartender4 for action bars and keybinds. It’s a great addon.
  • Moveanything for being able to move…well, anything. It’s not nearly as convenient as Elvui—no grid, for instance—but it does allow movement of things even Elvui doesn’t include.
  • SexyMap for making pretty minimaps, primarily, but also moving the minimap.
  • TitanPanel with various tie-in addons.
  • Threat Plates

I’m using Altz UI suite. I hate the default UI and have used full replacements for nearly the entire time I’ve been playing. It may not be for everyone, I like really minimal setups to maximize screen space.

i was in the same boat.

i wish i’d moved earlier. and after about 2 months of use i finally have it just as i want it.
