I don’t know how real Double Barrelled Shotgun look like, but the “Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle” has two barrel that are vertical to each other. I know the weapon is too big and long to be a Shotgun, but its still reminds me of one.
it made me think of castle Wolfenstein.
It’s such a cool model, it honesty annoys me we haven’t had similar high res guns made? At least I don’t think so. It’s truly one of those very unique weapons.
Used to be one of my favorites honestly, but I feel like these days it’s just . . . to big . . . If they could scale it down a little bit and update it’s textures I think it’d be perfect for my Gilnean gnome setup (still waiting for them to release to shadowlands season 1 ensamble)
The Wolfslayer sniper rifle makes me think of the fact that Ranged Weapons are only used by 2 specs of one class.
And that somehow we still don’t Have Tinkers as a playable class with guns and turrets and such.
WoW is full of guns and technology that’s really cool when juxtaposed to all the magic in the universe.
But we only have a single class that uses guns and it’s Hunter. Which is about animals and nature…
Still the best looking gun in the game.
The WSR reminds me of my horrid bad luck in TBC. I used exalted Thrallmar weapon for months because the t4 ranged weapons would not drop for my guild. Then when I finally got 1 of the 3 from Kara, I used the WSR all through t5 and t6 until my guild killed Illidan. So all through the TBC I got two weapons from raid bosses
It makes me think that it used to display illusions and Blizzard deliberately went back to disable them.
They come horizontal or vertical. “Side-by-Side” and “Over-Under” are the common terms used to describe them.
There is also such a thing as double barreled rifles. They were a lot more popular before bolt-action and semi-automatic actions became reliable.
To really blow your mind, look up a “Drilling”, it has both shotgun and rifle barrels.
It’s a mess of firearm design that’s for sure…
Over-under design what looks to be a 6 (well 6 trigger pulls, 12 shots total) shot cylinder made out of solid metal which means it’s going to weigh a ton.
Scope, but with a blade-sight that obscures your scope.
And a fixed bayonet that only protrudes out half the length of the bayonet blade. The point of a long bayonet, especially in a world that still has armored cavalry, is to stab the horse/other person as far away from you as possible while still maintaining the functionality of the gun.
The stock is interrupted by the cylinder so that begs the question of what is keeping the gun from flying out of the stock and disintegrating on being fired. Since the bands don’t wrap around the stock they only hold the barrels together and the scope on it. Which means that the gun is held to the stock by… glue? Ridges? Good intentions?
The cylinder has holes going all the way through it, which means it must fire cartridges. If it was ball and power or cap and ball then you would want an enclosed cylinder.
So if the gun is designed to fire cartridges why in the world wouldn’t you just make a break-action over-under?
Sure you can 6 (12) shots off faster than a break-action, but the weight of the cylinder means your reloads are going to suck if you’re swapping out cylinders. If you have to rotate/reload the cylinder like a Single-Action Army then you’re likely going to have a better sustained rate of fire with a break-action… and you’ll be able to carry more ammunition since you’re not lugging an 8 inch by 2 inch thick chunk of steel around.
This thing is just a mess.
Yup its crazy i don’t think sniper rifle (correcting me if i am wrong i am not a gun expert) are made to have 2 barrels so that is why it look more like a shotgun to me. Maybe one day they will use this weapon as a base to make a badass shotgun
A broken clock is right twice a day
Wow, apparently I don’t have that one because I didn’t realize how much of a bizarre morphydite it is.
It’s obvious it was designed by somebody with zero knowledge of how firearms work. Just to add one problem you missed, with a revolver, a fan of hot gas shoots out from the sides when you fire it. It’s right in front of your face, and the way it’s being held, right across your arm. That’s why revolving rifles never took off much IRL.
You’re right I forgot about that… and the burns to your arm as you try to hold the gun. >_<
makes me think “who tf even uses guns?” all the hunters i typically see which are a LOT… on a daily basis mostly only use bows. not sure if it’s the RP or w.e. some guns are alright looking but i’d think more people would mog guns then what i actually see so it is ironic tbh.
I almost always use a bow for Shalura, because it fits better.
For my Mecha-Gnome hunter though, I use a rifle because it fits better there. But Betsi’s Boomstick because it looks like an actual rifle, and not a laser-tag toy gun like most of them do. I wouldn’t use the Wolfslayer, even if I had one.
I stick with a gun because it fits for a dwarf. Especially since I’m often using the Rifleman/Mountaineer mog. There are certainly a lot of outlandish guns in WoW that are not at all practical, but then again the a large majority of armor and weapons in WoW are outlandish and no way practical. I always laugh at my mage as he’s constantly unsheathing and sheathing his sword as he casts. lol
