Literally half the gear I get from delves is worthless trinkets (there’s like only 1 good delve trinket for Ferals), 25% is back pieces, and the other 25% is everything else (though the game feels like it’s biased towards giving me pieces I already have). I remember getting a ton of trinkets and back pieces in S1 too. Is this intentional or just really bad rng?

This was my entire experience across multiple alts in season 1. The RNG is Working as intended.

I don’t believe it’s artificially weighted to intentionally be more likely to drop a trinket (or cloak) if that’s what you’re asking. There are just more of those on the loot table than anything else so they come up more often.
It’s good and bad, IMO.
Trinkets are a great slot to fill and it can be hard to find a decent one. Delves surprisingly have a few decent ones. Not usually BiS, but some of them can come pretty close to the top of the list and that’s generally good enough to invest currency to upgrade them.
But when you gear almost solely through delves, that’s understandably annoying when you still want a chestpiece, shoulders, boots, bracers, and offhand and you’ve gotten 4 trinkets in a row.

There’s DEFINITELY been an over abundance of trinket drops. I’ve been running 4 characters and nothing but 11s and 8s. SOOOOO many trinkets…

It definitely is. According to the data, trinkets, jewelry and backs have a drop rate of 1.4-2% and armor pieces have a drop rate of 0.6%.

This is how it is with Delve loot.
If you want a specific piece of gear, say a weapon to drop, you need to spend a boat load of gold getting one crafted, THEN you’ll get one in the next Delve you run.

This is the same issue we had during Season 1 and people gaslighted everyone that complained about it.
The gaslighting continues to happen. Blizzard has an army of forum lawyers ready to jump in for free.

I spent way more than that, but even so why you’d try and call me out on a comment that is clearly making a joke about getting Delve loot is somewhat lost on me.

I mean, yeah, the result is the same. No denying that.
I just don’t think they went in and said “okay, trinkets are 50% more likely to drop than an armor piece” on top of just rolling on the trinket-inflated loot table.
WoWhead droprates have been a total mess for years. Trinkets are going to be higher because everyone can use trinkets but you have to be the right armor type for the armor to drop, skewing data. Personal Loot effectively made WoWhead data moot in that regard.
Yes, they did. Furthermore, some trinkets have higher drop rates than others.
The reason for this is likely that a solo player can craft gear for all other slots. Trinkets need to be found in the world.
