What the heck?! I can't use my pet anymore?

From the moment she was made Peppermint’s had one companion pet, a Lunar Lantern named Tea. Now, after all this time, it says I can’t summon my pet because I’m on the wrong faction.

Yes, the Lunar Lantern is the pet the Alliance can buy from the Lunar Fest but for how many years now, over a decade I bet, it’s been available to both factions once learned. It’s too late to be changing this now.

Please fix this. I want my pet back.

I was so confused when it wouldn’t auto summon when I use my ardenweald lawn chair thingie, I thought it was a bug in my addon but nope, it was blizz removing access to other the other faction. Which is weird because the enchanted lantern/magic lamp can still be used. Sad panda.

Please remove faction restrictions on all pets, mounts, and heirlooms.

At least don’t add new faction restrictions to existing pets, mounts, and heirlooms.

What in the hell, Blizzard?

Do you actually want players to hate you?

I don’t understand. We want to like you and you literally won’t let us.

You keep kicking us in the teeth.

I like this idea, that’d be a huge increase in my mount numbers if I could use all my alliance mounts as horde. Well so I’d hope anyways, I mean we’re supposedly going to be allowed to party and group with the opposite faction and even join mutual guilds so why would they keep the faction divide there? I mean they already dragged us through enough tension, at the very least let OP have her lantern back.

Yeah this one’s a stupid restriction for no reason.

Does this apply to other faction pets, like the owls you purchase from Darnassus or the cockroach from Undercity?

I’ve wondered if I should worry about them doing this to Hogrus, since his blanket is red, but his being a store mount should keep him safe for everyone.

I can understand the faction restriction on mounts, but pets should have no such restriction. Except for the Argent Tournament gruntlings, they have that flag and I think a tabard indicating faction. But a lantern? Come on, Blizz.

Edit: Horde does have access to the Festival Lantern. I mean, it is similar. Not exactly the same, and if you’re going for a certain look, it’s not the same.

I have a Priest named “Moretea” it’s not “Morty” but a reference to a show in the UK in which one of the catch phrases used was “More tea Vicar?”, which was asked directly after the Vicar had farted, and as a kid I would roll over laughing.

That’s my WoW “Tea” story.

Peppermint!

Great to see you, though I am super sad for your lost pet.

Upsetting when things change for no valid reason.

I hope something happens and your companion can be returned to you.

Hope you have an awesome holiday weekend!

I really hope this was a mistake.

It has to be, especially since both factions have a truce rn and we have cross faction play.

First, I completely adore the name “Tea” for a toy pet. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

It’s telling me the same thing on alliance side about the Festival Lantern (the horde version). :disappointed:

I completely back this. If there are going to be faction restrictions on something, they should be there from the start or not at all!

I think we should adopt this as our mantra.

Wonder what would happen if I put in a ticket. I mean, I know a GM can’t fix it, but maybe it’ll get the information passed along to the devs and maybe find out if it’s intended or not. But maybe I won’t bug them on a holiday weekend.

This is so dumb. Selling these pets on the neutral AH was a known tradition back when.

You won’t be bugging anyone, ticket turn around is about 2 weeks atm.

Do it though, seems like a dumb change and making some fuss might help.

Good luck.
