What the heck happened to the action bars?!

So I quit for a break at the end of Legion (before BFA) and I come back today… and the UI is completely different then when I left… what happened and how do I undo the abomination of action bar layouts that exist now… cause it’s a giant mess to look at. I never used UI mods either…

My entire original top action bars are now split to where part of the top action bar is now on the lower right… it’s a nightmare to look at…

How do I restore the proper UI look?

Unfortunately, there isn’t any way to revert the action bar layout in the default UI. So, you will need an addon. If you want lots of control over how things look you could go with a bar replacement addon like Dominos or Bartender. If you just want something to basically go back to how things were, it looks like ClassicUI does the trick:
