What the angry diablo fans dont realize is-

Diablo mobile isn't for you.You are already playing and paid for Diablo. Its for people that like to pass time playing games on their phone(a good portion of the world).
and that's why they got a bad reaction. None of the people you are talking about are in the audience.
Odd. I could swear I head the announcer state that this would bring all Diablo players from around the world togther.

Nope.
Did you really just say that the intended focus of Diablo Immortal, to flesh out and realize 20 missing years of Diablo 2 to 3 lore, is not for Diablo fans? Did you really just say that asinine line?

They are together. Just not in the ways that Blizzard Entertainment intended.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
If they wanted to make this mobile game so badly, fine. Do it. It's not for me so I won't get it. But if it brings in some newer fans to the Diablo franchise, then by all means. Pull the trigger.

But when you don't also throw in some content for the actual game on PC, like a character pack, or even just verbally confirm that you are indeed working on the next major entry in the series, all it does it make it look like this franchise is 100% dead.

If the future of Diablo installments can be found on the mobile, then you will not find me there with them.
Great thread OP.
Now post it again from your Blue account.
Your right it's not for me nor will Diablo itself anytime soon, I've done gone uninstalled mine and won't come back till they get their !@#$ together.

The above is today's candidate for "dumbest statement of the week," and it's only Friday.

So much wrong here it's hard to know where to begin...
Why announce it at blizzcon? I doubt anyone there wants this game. Everyone there wanted diablo 4 or a diablo 2 remaster, but a phone game? Either completely out of touch with your playerbase or you just dont care anymore and want the $$. If the latter is the new strategy for diablo you will end up killing the franchise.

I almost feel bad for the guys who had to present this, they probably knew what a joke it was too.
Maybe I'm getting old but back in my day we bought a game one time and that was it. No microtransactions. You played the game and beat it, hopefully got a nice ending and got some sort of "sense of pride and accomplishment" beating it.

How exactly does that work out when you're playing some of these awful f2p mobile games these days? Beat the game using your credit card multiple times. Maybe you get that fancy legendary weapon you always wanted from that lootbox? Sounds too good to be true! Just buy 50 of them at once for a "best value" price of <insert 3 digit dollar number>.
It was a horrible place to announce it. You’re talking to an audience of, mostly, PC gamers.

Mobile gamers are a different type of gamer and there aren’t many in THAT particular audience. Of course their announcement produced mostly disappointment.
diablo fans are upset that is not about the existing game or D4. Imo there is no reason for a mobile game.

Do you seriously think a game like D3 can be carried over to a small screen and have the same experience ? Also, I seriously can't imagine people getting together as a group to play on their PHONES. Phone games that are successful are generally quick little short games that people do when they are waiting for things.

Duh. That's why they're angry. They wanted a new game for them.
To be fair, with the way games are made nowadays, having a game where you can play with a phone, console, computer, or toaster can be orchestrated into one consulated experience.

They just decided not to.
The fact that they walked out there and expected a positive reaction from the crowd just shows how out of touch Blizzard is with its core consumer base.

Unbelievable.
What do you mean they don't realize it? Of course they realize the game isn't for them. That's why they are mad, because they want a Diablo game for them.
It seems to have done so... just not in the way they intended.

Nothing brings people together like mutual hate.
In todays buzzfeed article, Diablo: Going to mobile is going to ruin the game, and here is why thats good.
