Obviously, this is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but I’m wondering what crazy requirements getting flight early in the expansion will require.
Full mythic clear of Nathria? ‘The Insane’ title? Only one flight mount that has to be earned in Torghast - which now goes up to floor 1000? And the mount costs 650,000 anima?
Going by the past few expansions it will most likely require the following on one character:
Part one Pathfinder:
All major storyline quests achievements done
All “main” reputations at Revered
All areas of the map uncovered
Part 2 of Pathfinder:
X amount of world quests done
Reputation raised to Revered for two brand new factions
Both storylines complete for brand new factions
Why would there be harsh restrictions on Pathfinder.
Say what you want about the timegating, but the actual achievements themselves have been super easy to get, usually revolving around doing a minor rep grind and finishing a storyline or two.
If I had to guess, Pathfinder will probably just require Revered/Exalted with a new faction and a completed storyline or whatever they add for the new zone. Maybe some minor exploration requirements as well.
We already know it has a renown requirement and is coming in the first major patch:
“However, we’ve been told that the Shadowlands Pathfinder won’t have a reputation requirement. Instead, it’ll be tied to your Renown with your Covenant.”
thinks of the most boring and the most annoying stuff
-Full Torghast clear.
-all rares in the maw killed
-maw upgrades fully unlocked
-maw fully explored
Well first you’ll have to invent a flying machine. For the first few years you’ll only be able to use it to fly short distances - 30 or so feet - and it will potentially break on landing.
Then you’ll have to spend hundreds of millions of gold and anima to research better flying machines until you eventually get ones that no longer have that restriction.
It has been stated A LOT on these forums, according to WoWhead interview with Ion prior to SL launch, or right after, flying will be locked behind renown.
Btw, in case people didn’t know. Looks like Oribos will not be flight enabled zone in the future. My anti-gravity toy doesn’t work there, but it does work in the Maw surprisingly. So looks like Maw will have flying, but probably have to run Twisted corridors for the flying mount there.
Realistically, I would think it will probably require all covenant sanctum features fully upgraded and whatever the maximum renown rank will be in 9.1.
They have stated that it will be tied to renown, so it might just require a certain renown rank.
