Doesn’t seem to be part of the starter build and would have never noticed the omission if I didn’t have have flap spell which doesn’t seem to serve any purpose or application.
They removed it when they “trimmed” down our buttons.
They got rid of adaptive swarm, and made flourish compete with another mandatory talent slot too…so it def didn’t stop there.
apparently the Druid developer thought we wanted to lose our visual aesthetic and play a forced, empty feeling playstyle.
And to think, I customized the perfect Moonkin…only to have it sit on the backburner until they completely change our class again in Midnight. Big sad ![]()
Resto can no longer learn Moonkin. Blizzard wants to force Resto into that catweaving crap.
i was so sad that they took it away from my healy-drood-mama ![]()
That was a HUGE mistake… This was such a cool spell and even more today with the updated graphics that only Feral gets to use. Like, why just them? Doesn’t even fits Feral’s fantasy!
Moonkin + Convoke was so fun in SL as Resto. Not a fan of them losing out on it!
So leaving the Flap spell is a mistake of the designers.
Question: why should non-Balance druids have access to Moonkin Form?
Considering that Moonkin is a unique identifier to Balance, rather than every single druid. So… why would non-Balance druids have access to it?
Feels a bit like as if all Warlocks were given access to a Felguard pet with some weird justification of “Well, Demonology Warlocks have a second Felguard-talent” … why would me as a Destruction/Affliction warlock have access to a Felguard, the same way that non-Balance druids would have access to Moonkin Form?
(I mentioned the talent thing because I know that historically non-Balance druids were able to use Moonkin Form but… like I said, it doesn’t make much if any sense even with an argument such as “There’s a talent for it” if that’s not part of the actual general Class identity.)
Thought i saw that convoke was still available as a talent.
This hurt me so bad
It is, was just great in combination with moonkin cause you’d occasionally throw out a Full Moon and it would be glorious
Just trying to second-guess why I’m given a flap spell option that can never be exploited.
Likely for the same reason why Fetch is still a hunter ability, despite it serving no practical purposes either: just a random ability left from when it used to be useful.
The other day I jumped from the Lumber Mill to the center as Resto… totally forgot they removed Moonkin form and my flap macro wouldn’t work. ![]()
It’s kind of arbitrary what are the one-spec-only abilities. Demonology is based around summoning more/better demons but that doesn’t mean it has to be the only spec with Felguard.
Oh-kay.
Cool. Not at all how this works and themes exist for a reason to tie classes together. But if that’s how you feel…
Then the Moonkin Form is arbitrarily locked to the specialization that specializes in the Moonkin Form which is just Balance druids. Same thing with Felguards and Demonology warlocks.
You misunderstand, I’m curious as to why non balance druids have the flap spell in their roster and was wondering if there was a hidden talent available that would give the inclusion to other specializations relevance. Why does the spell remain when it cannot under any circumstance be utilized. Is it a vestige of a fundamental druid mechanic which cannot be removed or did someone just get lazy?
Why do they have access to cat and bear forms?
Moonkin is no different. And it was a gameplay mechanic so that we could dps without being in melee.
Now we’re forced into catweaving crap.
It’s because they are going to make a cosmic void class which has a damage spec and a healer spec and will have a star form. Sorry enjoy your cats.
Moonkin is not a natural state for balance druids, it provides an augmented form for it’s ranged spells and is only available to balance druids.
