The answer to best animations is always fem panda monk.
The slow arm raise and release for Lava Burst is satisfying to watch.

All mage specs are pretty darn flashy. Especially when you tack on hero talents. But aside from them:
Elemental shaman.
Enhancement shaman.
Balance druid.
Destruction warlock.
Retribution paladin.

Pandaren monks have the best animations in the game. They really went all out for Mists.

I really preferred the original Chaos Bolt to the current one. The full body “I’M GONNA CHAAAAAAAAOS” looks silly. Looks like your character works up a big sneeze and hachoo’s out a chaos bolt.
Demons have gone from serious/menacing threats to… cartoon goofy as well. Warlocks have been on a graphically based downward trend, imo.
I’d say…
Demon Hunter
Ret Paladin
Disc Priest (changing shadow/holy penance is neat thematically)
Frost Mage (ice spike combining into one giant shard and flying out is neat)
Dh is like a edgy man who tries to impress you with his agility and fancy moves but at the end he gets his a$&@ owned
Personally I think shadow priest has the ugliest animations among the other classes. I can’t stand the screaming in background when sp cast any spell.
Void torrent animation redesign was supposed to be improved but it got worse.
Also the shadowform… It look like sp is farting when running with it

Light forged Dranei Unholy DK.
Doesn’t make much sense lorewise, but these chunky plate boys with the big weapons look amazing.
Fire mage, ret paladin, balance druid, priests with that blackhole thingie and WW monk.
I love the Evoker animations.

Ele shaman , no questions
Night Elf Moonkins with glyph of stars look amazing casting. Giant chickens don’t though. Pandaran (females) make any spec look pretty. I agree with Elemental Shaman overall. Draenei (females) in plate, especially Arms and Unholy.
I find it really hard to separate the spec from the race.
My panda enhance shammy is adorable when she’s casting and just generally hurumphing around. Enhance shammy for sure has great animation.
In contrast, my shadow priest who I recently changed to nightborne gives me the icks when she runs and looks like a leaper.
