What specs are you guys running for wow?

So what specs are you guys running?

My pc is approaching the 5 year mark …and was debating a new one. Still though, I only play mostly older titles, so it seems hard to justify the expense.

Anecdotally I’m still among the first into bgs and one of the first to load a map in SC2 or in WoW arenas.

Are that many folks behind the curve on SSDs or is my PC just still that relevant today.

What do you run?

I have an i7-8700k/RX580, R5 1600/1060 3GB, and an i3-8350k/rx570, all 16gb

We have a 9600k/Vega 64 and a 2600/1080, both 16 gigs, both work amazing

My gaming PC is an i7 8700k at 5.2GHz, a 1080ti that boosts consistently between 1.9 and over 2GHz, a Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD, a Samsung 850 Evo 512GB SSD, and a 2TB WD Black 7200RPM HDD. I have 16GB of G.skill 3200MHz 14CL DDR4 RAM The CPU and GPU are both liquid cooled in my Fractal Define Nano case. My monitor is a 27” 1440p Dell 144Hz TN display with Gsync.

I also have a 55” 4K Sony Bravia TV I occasionally plug into, but I prefer the Dell display

8700K @ 4.8GHz
1070 TI overclocked to 1080 performance
16GB RAM

2600X @ 4.2GHz
1070 TI overclocked to 1080 performance
16GB RAM

8700K gets about 100 FPS in Orgrimmar at a mix of High/Max settings.
2600X gets about 85 FPS in Orgrimmar at a mix of High/Max settings.

Both stay 60+ during raids.

I’m running a 4670k@4.5GHz, RX 470 and 12GB of RAM.

Main specs:

  • Ryzen 2700x, Vega Frontier, 32 GB of g skill flare X (3200 CL 14)

Storage:

  • Samsung 960 Pro 512 GB m.2 SSD with Windows 10 Pro,

  • Microcenter Brand Inland 480 GB SATA SSD with Windows 10 Enterprise.

  • WD blue 1 TB with Windows 7

  • Seagate Firecuda 2 TB for steam games and anything related for games

  • WD black 2 TB for any other software, and storage for Virtual Machines.

  • 4 TB Seagate hard drive with Arch Linux (Reborn OS).

  • Some basic OEM 2 TB hard drive I pulled from a broken Dell PC that I’m not sure what to put on it

Everything else:

  • LG blue ray and DVD optical drives

  • 1440p HP omen 32 inch freesync monitor

  • 4K TV 43 inch thats also connected to a Wii U and Nintendo Switch

Been meaning to pick one up to replace one of my full mechanicals.

My gaming rig is an mITX build in a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv Shift

ASUS Strix Z370-I Motherboard
Intel i5 8600K @ 4.8ghz (was 4.9 at stock voltage, but i got it stable at 4.8 undervolted, or 5.1 @ a voltage higher than i liked for daily use).
16GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB @ 3000Mhz
Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML120RS 120mm AIO cooler
EVGA GTX 1080Ti FTW3 (undervolted)
BeQuiet! SFX-L 600W PSU
SanDisk 240GB “SSD Plus” line SSD (boot)
ADATA 1TB “Ultimate” line SSD (storage)
EK Vardar 120mm fan on the AIO
Noctua Chromax Black 120mm intake on the bottom front
BeQuiet! Silent Wings 3 outflow on the top front
Phanteks Halo Lux dRGB fan rings (on the front fans)
Phanteks dRGB strip (behind the case panel/illuminates the main chamber)

Plan to add a custom set of cables from CableMod (so they aren’t crammed into the case; custom length) eventually, and perhaps a Phanteks dRGB hub so i can individually control each fan and the strip instead of having them daisy chained and locked into the same settings.

Monitor is a Dell S2716DG - 27" 1440p, 144hz, G-sync, TN panel.

My audio setup is pretty basic as my ears simply aren’t that good - i have an older pair of Logitech G4 speakers for “dont need to worry about sound” times and use a Corsair VOID Pro Wireless headset for listening. My Mic is a Blue Yeti, and for the rare times i need it, i have a Razer Kiyo webcame - but both of those are plugged into my daily-driver Mac so i can more easily manage them when i need to use them.

I like it alot

If you play one game over and over, the hybrid will favor that game by saving files on the flash memory

But as soon as you play something new over and over, the old game will no longer be favored

So pretty much hdd speed on games you don’t play often and SSD like speeds for 1 game

4810MQ/GTX 860M/16GB system RAM

5750M/7970M/8GB system RAM

8700k @ 4.9Ghz
1080 ti @ 1887Mhz (just turbo under water/no OC)
32GB DDR4 2400Mhz RAM
Samsung 960 Pro 512GB Nvme SSD
4TB Seagate barracuda
2x1TB external USB 3.0 HDD

Extra 9.5TB on home server.

3x24" Monitors @ 5760x1080
1x24" Aux.

With everything maxed except SSAA I get around 55-70 fps in boralus, 100-150 in raid, and 90-120 during raid bosses.
