Frost DK easily.
Canonically, mage magic is all rooted in arcane with it just manifesting as cold/frost damage. DK magic is literal death magic which freezes on a deeper level.

I think you’re wrong. If a frost mage did say a cone of cold on you and you happened to be wearing extreme winter clothes, the cold, in theory, shouldn’t affect you because while it is a magical effect causing the cold, it has a physical presence.
The cold of a DK cuts down into your soul even. It’s the icy chill of death itself. It’s cold on another level. In fact, I think if you even tossed shamans in here and their manipulation of the elements, DKs are still going to come out on top in this department.
It’s like asking if a warlock is better at soul manipulation than a DK is. We’re masters of death and souls have played a part in some of that, but it is no question that warlocks are on a whole different level in the soul manipulation game.

So? Maw is post death (arguably post post death). Death itself is associated with frost…whatever happens after is just shrug worthy.
I’d also find it humorous if DKs were given a Ghostrider-esque spec where we immolate you at the soul level for your crimes

Mind Spike is Shadow/Frost, though. I know because I don’t get locked out of it when an evil Mage locks me out of pure Shadow spells.
Neither - its Feral Druid cause they are cats. Cats are the most cold hearted things alive. They are colder than frost magic and colder than death magic. They are cats.

I mean other dialogue has implied the void is cold. Literally lines like “the cold of the void”.
It’s still a physical cold though whereas a DK is both physical AND deeper. When a mage or even a shaman hits you with a cold spell, it’s manifesting itself as a physical cold event. How do you compare the icy chill of death itself, which is not a physical cold, to anything else?

I still say that it pales in comparison to the abyssal, primordial, absolute, all consuming chill of pure, devouring, ultimate vacuum. A zeroing of entropy so inescapable and rampant that it is said if a single Void Lord manifested in reality, it would render all the carnage of the Burning Legion itself irrelevant in comparison.
DK’s are just illiterate warriors resurrected by magic greater than they’ll ever actually understand.
What’s colder - arcane control over atomic excitement so precise that they stop resonating entirely or living your whole life as dumb brute only to be resurrected and still not any smarter?

Frost mages merely adopted the frost, DK’s were born in it, molded by it.
