I plan to play resto sham in end game content. Is ele or enh preferred to level quickly?
A DPS spec will always be better than a healer spec if not spamming dungeons.
Ele seems more interesting leveling due to Flash of Lightning reducing the cooldown on literally everything.
ele is extremely fun right now. I personally went the path of doing the campaign leveling on another character and just leveled my resto shaman through dungeon spam.
I did Ele until I finished the campaign, then Rsham in dungeons to finish. My 2nd character was another shaman, and I did it entirely as an Rsham in dungeons. Was very quick.
Are you playing with anyone? My friend did Ele while I did Enh and leveled together. Early on as ele he couldn’t even cast anything because mobs died so quickly. Only things he could use were instant casts, he complained that his entire time leveling he only used tempest a handful of times because he never got enough maelstrom. So it kind of killed the whole learn your hero talents while leveling for him.
I am solo. How did Enh feel?
enh is always better , outside 1 shooting with lvb , enh having all instant casts make a huge diff
Ele farseer is pretty quick especially once you hit 75 can just macro Pwave with Ancestral Swiftness together, the burst melts mobs pretty quick.
Enhance all around is pretty quick too either doing elementalist or storm with Stormbringer.
Enh was fine up until around 77-78 and started feeling a bit squishier on elites/rares and things taking longer to kill. Not to the point where I was dying, but just to where I might need to heal or toss down the SB totem. That’s going to be every class/spec though because it’s the weird scaling they’ve gone with where a 70 is a god and 79 is toddler with a nerf bat. Just got to get through it and hit 80.
My first 80 I did the first two zones completely and then did the rest of the campaign and was 80 long before I finished it. My 2nd 80 with my friend I did some campaign(started before the 1st 80 was done), then world quests/bonuses, then all the quests in last 2 zones, and finished with more campaign.
My biggest advice if you’re questing to level is pay close attention to the zone level. The quest XP gets abysmal if you outlevel the zone even if the quests are scaling to your level. It’s super unintuitive and I didn’t even realize until after someone said something about it and I was already 80. So blast the campaign, quest till you hit the zone max and ignore the rest of the quests and move to the next zone and repeat. Don’t be a completionist like me and do quests for half the xp or less lol. Got good rep though lol.

Update: did finish leveling as Farseer Ele and the 30s burst was pretty nice, but after getting geared I like Stormbringer Enh a lot more when doing world content.
I’m not sure how leveling would have worked with Enh since even geared, Enh is squishy.
Either is more than adequate
