What spec feels best to quest with?

I don’t mean what spec do you actually do quests with (which is probably your main) but do you have a spec you enjoy grooving with when you’re going for Loremaster, or grinding through a zone, or even when you want rep?

I’m mostly curious, I’d love to know why you like that spec, and I’m also, a little bit, tryna see sumthin’ as they say onT Twitter.

I love playing Feral out in the open world. Especially with Warmode on.

It just feels like you interact with the world design more. Theres just something really satisfying about dropping from the sky shifting into cat form, prowling and sneaking up on enemies.

And DoT damage means you can just bleed them and walk away. They will die to Feral bleeds which i love.

Uh for something like you’re describing I’d say Ret.

Havoc feels pretty great. Great aoe burst, decent ST, great mobility, great self sustain/recovery, etc.

Frost mage. Ranged with long-distance AoE that is effectively spamable (blizzard).

DH and druid also work, though for long-term rep grind frost really reduces needing to ever move while mowing down pirates.

A tank. Can be a BDK, a Warrior, or a Paladin, but I just love never dying. Get a “Kill 10 ____” quest? No problem. One fight. Ability to grind down large groups makes XP gain decidedly faster.

Frost Mage is second. Decent DPS, and excellent survivability. Being able to vanish in combat is good when you bite off more than you can chew. You Just don’t have the ability to farm big groups like a tank. Portals also make travel a lot easier.

If it’s about farming content, then Ret Paladin.
It’s not the fastest, but I don’t have to stop to cast anything, and if things get rough I can heal myself or use a shield.

And honestly, I hate classes that rely on resources like Energy/Focus, etc. for farming.

Yeah, seeing a lot of melee answers. I wish I loved Enhance

Way back in the day when I got mine the first time cataclysm had just launched and I wanted a Worgen Druid more than anything. Once I hit level camp and I had instant flight, I simply cruised through every single zone with a quest helper, and made sure that I completed every quest in every zone that was tied to the achievements. As a cat, I could kill faster and move quicker and with my instant flight form, I could get from one end of the zone to the other and back with no problem at all. Druid was literally the win for me.

Ret is a solid choice, because there’s range, no setup, easy AoE and self healing. Horse for speed.

BM is second for me, especially on current content. There’s passive speed boost indoors. AoE is a bit more hassle and pet positioning can slow things down, but a lot of stuff is soloable.

Havoc, find it doesn’t really have down time.

Losing barrage turns out to have a significant impact on the feel of BM hunters. But it’s still pretty good choice.

Protection paladin is little down from its glory days, but I still like it as a good toolkit for “near legacy” where there might still be a nasty fight here or there.

Frost mage is a very strong all-around character that feels good to play.

Windwalker monk has been moving up my tier list, despite being very melee-focused.

I like Marksmanship Hunter and Ret Polly.

But these are all the same character. Currently, it is protection paladin. I only do a quest chain twice if I am forced to do so for some reason.

Fury warrior. If it’s purely older open world content nothing beats just spamming whirlwind to clear out any mob near you.

Havoc DH is a close second.

Survival hunter is awesome for questing and delves. It’s also awesome for M+, but nobody realizes it. Having a pet and a ranged aoe attack makes tagging quest mobs easy.

Seconding this.

Feral is a breeze to level with, especially when you get the PvP talent that makes your Rake crit 100% of the time on a new target.

Feral is also just fast, lots of damage and is great for Xmog runs!

Bear druid cuz druid and because i like being a bear better than a chicken. Or my panda brewmaster, for whatever reason he’s the character i do old reps on.

i agree that fury is wwwwwweeeeee unga bunga. stuff lights up and stull dies. charge is great and leap helps getting where you need to be

fire mage stuff burns to ash rinse wash n repeat

For questing I would say Ret Paladin feels really good. It’s simple but not boring and it is pretty flashy, so you feel powerful.

If you want to solo anything and everything, I’d say blood dk, but the spec is too slow to really be considered fun.
