What spec are you easily clearing Torghast with?

I’ve tried Resto and Balance, not sure which I find easier per se. Resto didn’t have a problem at all whereas balance had an issue on a final boss by taking too much damage.

Haven’t failed a layer once as Sub

Affliction

Yesterday I completed floor 5 as elemental, it was pretty easy. I will try higher levels after next week, if I am not getting full rewards I rather don’t try it.

Balance druid. Personally I have no problems at all.

I’m lazy to clear it - I’ve only done up to four. But I’ve died only once (due to thinking I could AFK; the random out-of-combat hound things got me) and never failed. Never came close to failing.

I don’t see how future levels will be that much harder. I mean, sure, they will be, but I’ll be getting stronger in the meantime as well. If I can clear up to 4 never dying or failing, I don’t see that moving to 5 would kick my butt to the curb. Nor would 5 to 6, 6 to 7, all the way to the end.

Unholy dk is very easy

Havoc DH is a breeze. Pretty fun anima powers when you’re Night Fae also. You get one where The Hunt is reset everytime the enemy dies in 20 seconds or less after using The Hunt it resets. So imagine all the mobility DH has, and then throw The Hunt on top of that. You’re basically yeeting all over place!!!

Prot warrior makes most of the content in it laughable.

Enhancement Shaman was easy mode even before the nerfs.

Since the latest fix I’ve been able to clear all layers solo with Destro Warlock. Layer 8 was a bit rough, but I got through it.

Thing is, OP, there is at least one person out there for each class and spec that has no problem clearing it. Hundreds. Thousands of people for each class and spec.

Despite the community insistence that “XYZ class or spec” cannot easily do Torghast, it’s quite clearly not true. Every class and spec has cleared the place up to whatever the max level is right now. There are many people that found it easy - many people for every class and spec.

All of the lists of “best classes and whatnot” for Torghast (or DPS, or Healing, or whatever) don’t take into account individual skill level anyway. A player with low skill can pick the “best” and still fail terribly.

Conversely, a player with high skill can succeed with any class, to a fair degree.

It’s unfortunately one of the biggest fallacies of the WoW universe. That you can and should pick “best class X” for better results, regardless of your skill level. Or, in other words, “if you are failing just switch to best class X and you will win.”

Nonsense… absolute nonsense.

Though I like golf, I suck terribly at it, because I rarely play. So, even if I bought the best clubs, the most scientifically advanced golf balls, the best shoes, went to the best course in the world and had the best rated caddy, I’m not even going to come close to beating a pro. Heck, forget pro. I wouldn’t even beat some random person who just plays for fun every weekend.

Sometimes in life, skill matters far, far more than how some class and spec (or golf gear) ranks on a list. Just play what you enjoy playing; ignore what other people think is easy or best and find your own groove.

Prot Paladin has worked out well for me. Tried to go ret with another DPS friend at first and it was awful.

2h Frost obliteration DK (aka I don’t use bad of sindragosa) and I’ve been doing fantastic since the nerf.

Admittedly before the nerf id struggle with layer 4 (ilvl 167) i got through it but it was by the skin of my teeth.

Since the nerf though I’m finishing layer 5 and 6 and not even using icebound fortitude or lichborne.

Feral, it is pretty easy.

I rest my case. There’s fourteen specs that are “easy” to other people, in 30 minutes. There are, what, forty specs total?

The answer to the question you posed in the title is (or will clearly be, after perhaps two more hours):

All of them. Play what you enjoy. If you want a productive play experience, though, be true to your goals:

  1. If your goal is to play a particular class then learn it and practice it, with the knowledge that it is entirely viable for Torghast (or any content*). Make it work. Read guides. Ask in class forums. Try harder. Practice, practice.

  2. If your goal is to clear specific content then drop what’s not working for you and try a different class. Know, though, that you might as well pick what you think looks coolest, because every class and spec are viable for all but the top tier of cutting edge content*.

  3. If you have difficulties in the future, see either 1 or 2 above, as applicable.

(* By all means, if you are part of a world-first raiding guild or E-Sports team or something like that, ignore everything I’ve said. Your team can guide you further, and nothing I’ve said is really applicable to that kind of player. If, like me, you are part of the 99% though - I really would suggest 1, 2, and 3 above.)

Affliction. Stuff just melts if you get a lot of demon buffs and darkglare powers

Feral, get the crit anima powers, put my dots on everyone, Ursol’s Vortex and run away healing, they just die in a few seconds.

Disc priest

I’m currently only one loss in Torghast due to those changes they rolled out Tuesday.

Besides that, I’m basically indestructible.

Arms Warrior, baby.
