What should the next WoW class be?

There’s currently a poll over on the mmo-champ forum, asking members what class they’d like to see: https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2604124-Your-pick-for-the-next-WoW-class-2021-edition

The choices are: Dragonsworn, Necromancer, Dark Ranger, Tinker, Bard, and Night Warrior.

What’s nice about this thread is that it includes fan made concepts for almost every option.

If you’re unable to vote on mmo-champ, and still want to participate in a poll, here’s a poll for just here: https://strawpoll.com/4uy2zjxha

Dragonsworn:

Necromancer:

Dark Ranger:

Tinker:

Bard:

Check out the concepts and voice below or over there what class you’re most excited to see possibly added to the game!

Personally, Necromancers and Dark Rangers, but I definitely wouldn’t be upset with Dragonsworn.

I’d love to see either a ranged caster or Mail wearer, and I think Necromancers and Dark Rangers are currently in theme. Both we need!.

I actually hope also if we are going more Light vs Void next expansion they mix it up with a pure Holy dps caster and some sort of Void melee class which we both don’t have.

Also great thread love how you linked the specific class threads too, many don’t do that :ok_hand:t4::+1:t4:

why do you think there should be a new class if they can’t balance the ones they already have or make them fun

Pretty sure one of their class designer got outed as cube crawler and the other one jump ship off Blizzard.

The best thing that they should do is to refine the current class/spec.

As 538 would say, this is a really bad use of polling.

OP is asking players what class they want to get, but poll is phrased to ask respondents what class they will get.

Those are totally different things and so it’s not clear what’s being voted on.

Necro and Dark Ranger are likely most popular, but Blizzard put a lot of ground work into tinker making it most probable.

no new class. every class needs new specs.

I think tinker could be very fun and a versatile hybrid class. It would be a way to utilize the technology in the world. It’s unique. It might need to take away some engineering bits, but whatever.

Necromancer and Bard, yawn, but I can see why some would want them. The dragonsworn I didn’t read.

Clown spec would be great for any class.

Because there’s never going to be perfect balance within the classes, and new classes are always an attractive feature for new expansions. And from what we’ve seen the last few weeks and months, WoW’s next expansion needs MAJOR attraction features.

Monks are still woefully represented.

:microphone: Bard! :studio_microphone: :musical_note: I choose bard. :notes:
But I wouldn’t reject Thinker. :hammer_and_wrench: :wrench: :nut_and_bolt: :gear: :clamp: :magnet: :satellite:

Could this be because they start at level 1 or their theme isn’t favored by many, or both?

Mechanoid. Not a Pseudognome, but a full blown steampunk mechanical humanoid. Instead of armour upgrades you get mechanical enhancements.

I don’t want any new classes. It’s clear that we can’t get the current specs to all be balanced, or even played at this point.

I think I’ve grouped with maybe 30 rogues this expansion so far, 10ish feral druids, maybe 7 mistweaver monks, 5 survival hunters, maybe 9dks regardless of spec… You get the idea

You can wish for them all you want. No thank you from me.

Sure, but there’s a difference between “not perfectly balanced” and “worse than a drunk pirate on a unicycle”.

They’re attractive when they’re shiny and new but if they don’t address the problems people have now it won’t matter once the novelty fades.
