What should I focus on when I hit 55?

Hey all! I’m going for 55 today! ;D I have my zones mapped out that I’ll be hitting up! Anyway, I know at 55 I can enter MC and start farming that rep! I believe I can also start the Oynxia atonement quests.

When I hit 55 what should I focus on? Getting my pre raid BiS out of BRD? Or keep the main focus on getting to 60?

Definitely start running BRD. There is a lot of well itemized loot in there and the eastern half has level 48-55 mobs. BRD runs are also really good xp especially if you grab and do all/most of the quests. I have been in BRD from level 52-58 farming BiS pieces.

Leveling.

People are far more likely to bring you to groups if you’re 60, and those runs will be much faster and easier if you’re level capped.

tank and run LBRS

i see people say stuff like this, what does this mean? like did you spend hours planning up how to play a game planning your builds lookin up quest? how does one prepare for a game that 8 year old can excel at? or did you just look at a map for 5 seconds?

Farming pre-BiS is ideal. You can go back to the questing zones at 60 and make more gold than the EXP gives you, while also having better gear.

Start with BRD and then you can move on to LBRS/Scholo and then Strat/UBRS. Depending on what you need.

Was that at all really necessary? You’re a toxic flog.

hmmm, who shall I take.

i genuinely just want to know what people mean and think.

bro you do not need level 60s to do most of brd. i have been farming brd since level 52 up to the grim guzzler and since 55, been doing everything up to chests of the 7. and that is as 5 elemental shaman, with no tank or dedicated healer.

If you’re not doing a full clear (and at 55 you might not want to) the only reason a Mage would go is Arena farm.

Yeah I started BRD last night:) got past the fireforge guy then called it since the healer was 51 and I was taking hits like a truck LOL! Big ouchie.

Take a look at the drops and see if you just want to do Arena/Angerforge/Golem Lord. You can do it pretty quickly, it’s decent XP, and a lot of good pieces drop from them.

Get used to that. The ONLY dungeon you will get invites for from a pug is BRD first half. The emperor would be really hard with a group of 55’s anyway though

But very very few LBRS groups are going to consider taking 55-58’s. Not to say it doesn’t happen, but if a lev 60 is asking for lbrs, they will always take that first

That being said, I did lbrs in a group of 5 level 58-59’s and one spot was really tough. The omokk spot, where you have to defend the platform against the repeat spawning 4 ogres or whatever. That was ridic for a group of 5 all below 60. Took everything we had, and barely did it. Now I hear you can also do LBRS in a raid, so I dunno why we did as a group of 5. But whatever, got first part of ony attunement done and the bracers i needed, not going back for a while

Btw, you can just give up on the idea of doing strath, scholo, or UBRS before level 60. If your server is half the size of mine, there will be lots of level 60’s asking too, and they will always get priority

Here’s the priority charts for dps invites to pugs (in order of priority):

  1. 60 mage
  2. 60 everything else
  3. pre-60 mage
  4. pre-60 everything else

Just focus on getting to 60 asap. I got strath both sides and UBRS done same day that I hit 60. Did not get a single invite prior to that (and asked about 20 different times when I heard LFG’s)

Those standards will probably drop as the phases progress. Having hit 60 in patch 1.7 in Vanilla, I had multiple LBRS/UBRS groups with sub-60s with a handful even bringing a 55 because we got tired of waiting and just needed someone to fill the slot.

I recommend doing the tirion quests in EPL to level. The kill quests are annoying and take a while, but give a lot of exp from all the kills you have to do

From there you can do the rest of the chain solo up until the strath part. You ideally want to be ready for the strath live part of the chain (where you get the painting) before you hit 60 and start asking for strath groups (chain ends in BIS neck for many classes)

Also, you can do the scholo key quest pretty much solo as well pre-60. Araj the Summoner seems tough, but his drop is a GLOBAL drop, meaning everyone around can come pick it up (its a box on the ground when he dies) if they have the quest. So the easiest way to get Araj quest done, is to just sit and wait and stare at Araj. That’s all you have to do, stare at him and wait. Eventually either a group from your faction or the other faction will come kill him. Run up and loot the item. Done

Getting to 60

If you genuinely wanted to know, it works better if you don’t insult the person first. For some reason, that doesn’t usually result in good conversations.
