Originally I said it should be 100, but we’ve definitely surpassed that mark. So, what should it be? And this doesn’t mean they need to stop making expansions. Maybe just concentrate on ilvl instead. But if it were up to you, where would the leveling end?
I think 120 is perfect tbh. You doubled the original cap.
I wouldn’t mind a new expansion with no leveling, but more work put into content (dungeons, raids, harder quests that offer meaningful upgrades… you get the point)
We already have too many levels as is. It’s daunting for any new player to join and see they have to get 120 levels just for the next expansion to increase by 5 or 10.
The levels are getting out of hand. We need that level squish, and then they need to cap max level at like 80 and go no further. Just add new content for us to enjoy, we don’t need to keep getting stronger every single expansion. As long as the content is good, we’ll play it.
It should be level 100 but we’ve missed that mark. Instead of a valid alternative progression path, we get gimmicks like Artifact Weapons and Azerite Necklaces.
Agreed, a level squish is direly needed. Squish max level down to 60 again and set it up so EK+Kalimidor represent 1-40, 40-50 any xpac of your choice up except the latest, and 50-60 the latest xpac.
Same. There is already enough character levels in the game imo. It feels so unrewarding now. No new talents or abilities. There’s not even any augments to abilities with leveling as we saw in WoD. Now with each level the all I get is a flashy graphic, a grats from the game, and the feeling of being one more level closer to being capped and it being over… for a time.
I have one of each class available to Humans. In the past I could get most of them all leveled up, but now it’s just such an extreme bore. It feels like each expansion puts my toons “out of commission” because the level goalposts are moved. The idea of being “reset” with the release of every expansion was alright (and I do mean “alright”) in the past, but now it’s like wearing on me to have my toons feel reset w/ each expansion.
60 for sure. Well, honestly it could even be 80. I think the game needs to redefine itself in terms of progression and move away from a true levelling RPG. The game is too vast and spread now for levels to be meaningful, especially when you throw things like Azerite Power in at max level.
The levelling design should be shorted, streamlined but more meaningful. Whilst making outdoor content less obsolete at max level.
There is no point throwing out another 10 levels each expansion if they don’t mean anything or change the progression of your character. I would rather see them do away with that design and have each zone have a different degree of difficulty and those zones broken down further into more gradient difficulties, quests and rewards for those zones would be appropriate making gear progression more involved throughout the zones. The “starting quests” giving lower rewards than the later quests which involve difficult “elite” areas which award the greatest rewards for that zone.
Dungeons would be appropriately scaled to encourage actively finishing the zones, and in terms of if they determine they want to keep AP styled content to unlock certain conditions of it you would also have to do the specific zone quests. (so as not to make that content obsolete)
im totally okay with them squishing to 60 and going up to 90 or 100 over the next several expansions. But I definitely don’t think there should be a final level cap. I had so much fun leveling in ESO and loved the game and hit max level crafted my bis armor and was ready to get to work. next expansion came out and theres no new max level. I ask people why they didn’t add more levels and they said “oh well that would make all the gear they spent time getting pointless”
Like YEAH that’s what an expansion is!!! not a raid dlc! The second I learned that I cared about the game SO much less.
Now. They should stop or scale us back. Telling a new player “enjoy doing repetitive boring outdated content for 120+ levels” I’m sure will bring in the masses
