What settings do you use?

I’m running:

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor
32 GB RAM
NVidia Geforce RTX 2070 Super

25" Gaming monitor 240Hz

Besides just sliding the bar to 10 … I want to make sure I’m maximizing my experience. What setting do you all double check are on or off to make sure you’re getting the best visual experience in WoW?

What’s your resolution? If you’re at 1080p, set everything to the highest setting and you shouldn’t see any difference from lower settings. Maybe set RTX to high and not ultra but I’m not very familiar with that setting.

5ghz 8700k
32gb 3200mhz CL16 RAM
5700 XT

I also cap my game to 100fps. Usually stays there, rarely goes below except for things that normally cause FPS drops like raids, etc.

GPU utilization generally between 50-80%. I could run settings at higher, but I like my GPU to make no noise in games that I’m playing all day long.

I also dislike MSAA because with RIS at 100% and FXAA, I actually get better visual results (same clarity, better edge smoothing) with less GPU overhead since RIS and FXAA High are basically free.

IIRC Nvidia has a similar function with the global sharpening that you can enable in the driver. IMO these methods of post-processing are better and more efficient than conventional MSAA that essentially is just wasted resources.

Yes 1080p this whole setup was a big upgrade for me so I’m just trying to get a feel for what others are using for settings! I appreciate it!

thanks! I’m going to try these settings! I shouldn’t notice a heck of a difference but anything that benefits my system while benefiting my visual experience is great

Well at 1080p with a 2070S you shouldn’t really need to adjust anything down from 10 unless you want to just have lower temps.

I would recommend the Sharpening/FXAA instead of MSAAx8 though. That setting just kills FPS for no real gain.

You won’t have 240fps most of the time but you should still manage high 100s outside of the normal places where FPS tanks.
