What servers will be the highest populated?

As the title says. What do you guys think might be the highest ones? Have they released server names yet? Will there be all the originals? What will be the cap per server? I want an informed decision. I want to join a server who will be raiding and progressing reasonably fast. Any thoughts?

PvE hands down, followed by PvP.

  1. No
  2. No clue
  3. No info released yet

I expect robust RP populations if it’s limited to a few servers. One of the RP things I’m looking forward to in Vanilla is not needing to get so much crappy lore straight to play with the non-erpers.

RP-PVP of course if they open one, and they should.

PVP servers have always been very popular. If they go lean as they said, I expect several to be near cap.

Streamer servers will be the most populated. Several streamers have opened guild applications and have already spoke about them on stream.

Esfand I believe said he had like 700+ applications within the first week?

So for Classicast… I expect that server will have massive queues the first week or two.

I listen to them too, no way I’m rolling on their server though lol.

Yeah I could see this being true at least initially.

Did they ever give a ballpark idea of how many servers to expect, or how many players each would hold?

Ugh that sounds irritating. I wonder how many people will actively avoid those servers and turn them into ghost towns as a result. I feel like many Classic folks aren’t as interested in the influencer fanclub stuff as much as maybe the younger generation is. People just wanna have fun in a good old game.

same as retail.
stormrage, area 52, proudmoore, etc.

They haven’t released any details about Classic servers so not sure what the reference to Retail servers is about. But if Classic is as imbalanced as Stormrage and Area 52, man it’s gonna suck.

I may turn out to be. Some people have said on different private servers they start off as 50/50 split and then one faction starts to dominate and then people begin to reroll to be on the easier faction.

I dunno I heard that Emerald Dream on Retail is a pretty popular WPvP server that actively tries to keep their population balanced, and it’s impressively balanced. I’m hoping that at least for Classic PvP servers, the players will have a similar mindset.

i remember joining a realm as horde, that had really low population of horde players but lots of alliance. i ended up having to make a character for each profession set, so i could make whatever i needed. was slow progress and not terribly fun, but it worked.

On Emerald Dream faction balance for WPvP is uber alles. Entire guilds have switched factions to keep it balanced.

Baffling that Blizzard is considering RP and not RP-PVP.

Faction balance should remain okay as long as server/faction transfers are not a thing. The grass is always greener…

Yeah i’m planning on saving names on the pvp servers just so I can switch if I get the unlucky streamer server since I’m just not interested in that.

The only one I watch regularly is Nixxiom but he’s in Eu so that won’t matter to me lol.

Whichever ones have content creators on them.

All undisclosed.

Just stay away from the streamer house server (Esfand, Rich, Staysafe, and Asmongold) if you dont want an overpopulated server and queue. Between them they are already have a full server worth of kids (not exaggerating - over 3k) waiting to roll with them.

Yeah that’s kinda why I’m trying to avoid them.
I like having a populated server but I don’t want a mega packed one.

Is Asmongold even going to play Classic still? Isn’t he kind of burned out? And what about Sodapoppin? IMO, he and his fans are the worst of the bunch as far as bad behavior.

Sodapoppin’s server would probably be worth avoiding as well. Pretty much just any large streamer collective. Though some people enjoy playing with the stream hype people as well I guess.

I’d much rather play on Soda’s server than the Esfand/Staysafe army though. Speaking as someone who has been playing private servers since 2009, the private server community is WAY worse than anything retail can bring nowadays. Over the past 3-4 years when private servers became more “mainstream” the community changer for the worse.
