What separates a 1600 from an 1800 in Solo Shuffle?

What general skill sets do you think people at 1600 should master to climb to 1800? Is it different between healers and DPS?

probably enchants and the right spec. differences in skill are very small.

Full conquest gear probably helps for some players.

wheres kennie to tell everyone there’s no difference :woman_facepalming: :dracthyr_nod: :sleeping_bed:

There’s always a bit more consistency.

1800 solo shuffle is like 200 3v3.

Just playing the right talents and having the correct gear will take you a long way.

For example: Lightweaver on holy priest is pretty outdated since divine image does 5-12% of your healing on hpiest. Also most holy priest play with 38-42% mastery(inside pvp) it seems like you only have 20-24%.

I reccomend copying this build

(You can replace answered prayers with epiphany based on what the situation is)

And copying this guys gear:

assuming the player has correct stats, talents, etc? literally nothing, 2400 on a dps right now feels like 1800

Got bored and started playing my MM Hunter in RSS today. Sitting at 1950 right now ( my first time really playing RSS ), there seems to be a general lack of awareness for CDs/CC/etc that really hasn’t gotten any better since I was 974 like 3 hours ago.

As a real answer, there’s always little bits of knowledge or gameplay that vary between people of al skill brackets. Not everyone is the same but I’d say the biggest things that dictate rating amongst most players are:

—positioning
—consistency

Positioning is likely the cause of most losses. Poor trades or suboptimal rotation and stuff obviously matter but if people positioned properly and played more efficiently because of it, they’d likely climb a lot.

Being consistent is also a huge factor. There’s people who play at 2400 that have taken games off 2.7 players or R1s. Maybe a mistake was made or maybe they just played really well but one thing is certain, the higher rated teams make far less mistakes less often.

Pretty much this as the best simplified version.

There’s also just the reality that the percentage play isn’t a guarantee. Sometimes you hit 75, 82, and 81 on three 70/30 plays in a row and lose even though you “should” have won, and even though you should make the same decisions next time. In shuffle this is specifically relevant as you’re only ever guessing at how both your enemies and teammates will respond to various circumstances.

Right now you can probably focus on raw throughput and not actively losing the game to bridge the specified gap. If you aren’t the one actively dying (generally) and you are pressing all your buttons every round you will likely be able to hit 1800 as any spec in either role.

But man was it satisfying getting those gigantic Heal crits in season 1.

Or you know, the insane burst class you play has nothing to do with it

I mean, it worked for me on an antiquated spec before the buffs and before Big Blue made it the starting MMR, and I was - and still am - wildly inconsistent so…

In solo where people arent communicating and are merely there for points / mount nobody seems to care to really win. Most are just there. If you do coordinated 2s or 3s with communication and understand patterns of those whom you play with regularly its much easier to get from 1600 to 1800 than in solo. You likely will have to do some carring in solo if you want to hit 1800 imo

What does that have to do with a lack of situational awareness bud?

Helm and shoulder transmog.

Focus on your team mates playstyle and reinforce it. When I did the 1600-1800 portion of the rating I actually had to pay more attention. Reaching 1600 can be done quite easily. Sure you can get carried by your spec.

What I found out was using a lot more CC and try to notice how the other players are doing. Be the one person in the lobby that change their style. I changed my talents to be more CC heavy and less bursty, so I could protect my healer better. Adapt to your team mates instead of expecting them to adapt to you. If your DPS friend isn’t focusing, then try to use that to your advantage and help them achieve their goal.
