What runes are you hoping for in phase 2?

Fan of Knives
Poison Bomb

A permanent shadowfiend!

We deserve to tank or at least have a pet…

Nah I just want the mana regen from it honestly.

This one is for those players who miss the trap-centric playstyle of classic Survival Hunters. Some often forget that Survival hunter was a range melee hybrid with an emphasis on traps and being strategic. #RexxarIsNot-a-Survival-Hunter. Here is a set of glyphs that Blizzard could make to accomplish this.

CHEST “Armed and Dangerous”

Similar to what was done in Legion, this glyph would add an arming time to traps, but drastically increases their power. They still have their basic effect if triggered right away, but they’ll have greater power if not triggered for a few seconds. Since traps in classic can’t be used in combat, this gives the strategic hunter a chance to create well devised ambushes. That is unless you get the next glyph for legs.

  • Immolation: Increases the default effect of immolation trap by 300% and sends the target screaming on fire. (Damage boost and fear affect)
  • Explosive Trap: Explodes knocking multiple targets down and inflicts 150% additional damage. (Damage boost and brief stun)
  • Frost Trap: Increased radius of frost and gives a boost to Entrapment talent proc chance. Also causes friendly targets to coast across at 40% increased speed. (Provides 10% chance to root and gives 40% speed buff to friendly targets who skate across it)
  • Freezing Trap: Causes diamond ice effect, preventing anything from breaking it off the player - INCLUDING PvP trinkets this time. That never should have broken it in the first place. Last 8 seconds.

LEGS “We Have the Technology”

Allows traps to work in combat and enables Trap Launcher. (24second cooldown on Launcher) It also allows the use of more than one trap at a time. Must be a different trap element.

GLOVES “Master Tactician”

Basically Wild Spirits from Shadowlands. A field of energy that causes enemies struck within the field to take additional damage. The visual effect for Master Tactician would be taken right out of the elementals in the P.O.S.T Master fight in Tazavesh. The graphic for that energy field actually matches the original TBC talent icon for Master Tactician to a T. It’s perfect. The armed version of this does double damage and increases crit damage against that target by 50%.

Side Note: The damage bonus from Clever Traps talent points should apply to Explosive Shot. God that move is weak.

I sincerely hope Blizzard will consider this, as it will tap into the strategic potential traps like never before. An excellent raid and PvP mechanic to improve the game drastically. Adding a whole new type of usefulness to hunters than just pew pew pew.

I’ll tell you what I am not hoping for: Roll the Bones.

Please and thank you.

honestly anything that isn’t a retail spell would be a win for me, I want actual NEW stuff

i don’t like seed of corruption, i think its a boring spell

what i’d like to see is an aoe corruption ability. Combine this with everlasting affliction and shadow bolt volley for best potential of continually keeping up dots on multiple targets.

A rune that gives us some mobility, like kil’jaeden’s cunning would also be nice

Hot. Streak. Fire mage NEEDS Hot Streak or some form of “use pyroblast” rune. The rotation is horribly simple right now with just spamming fire ball while keeping up living bomb. Also would love to have phoenix flames along side Hot Streak but, maybe save that for level 50 :stuck_out_tongue:

Anything brand new to WoW would be cool. I like opening up theory crafting space over ported things that are already known to be strong or weak in X situation.

Healing pets for hunters could be funny!

30 mins blessings for paladins.

Summoning Portal for warlocks.

Mage table for mages.

Soulwell for warlocks.

Crusader aura for paladins.

Mass resurrection for every healing class.

Normal rez for druids.

Interesting one to see for rogue would be an ability where you can store your built combo points in order to switch them to another target.

I can’t recall if there was a talent that did similar in MoP or they got nothing until the mechanics change in WoD.
But since they don’t seem to be making any base mechanic changes it would be a nice tool for versatility.

Make it unswappable without a respec and you’ve got a deal

Expanding on heal Hunter:

  • Healing pet could be something like a low move speed slug. Low and inconsistent (due to pet mana) automatic single target healing, or middling steadier manual casted healing. Low MS and melee range heals makes swapping targets cost time.

  • Adrenaline Shot: Spin on Aimed Shot that heals in the same range as Heal, and provides a short buff with duration depending on how long the cast is charged. Alternatively the buff duration could be static, but has different cast times contingent on the armor class of your target.
Gotta pierce that breastplate! Think Pulp Fiction.

  • Stim Shot: Very small HoT for spot healing

Rotation tries to juggle your short buff(s?) and keep the tank stable using your pet.

Cons: Even more items are Hunter items.

I want some runes that don’t focus purely on dps and throughput abilities.

Things like runes that let you speak/understand different languages, including opposing faction languages, or runes tied to professions, perhaps letting you take up extra gathering professions, or providing some sort of interaction with professions.

The power creep with existing runes is already getting pretty bad, lets explore other fun things, outside of just “numba go up” please, lets not turn classic into retail, by making raid content the singular and exclusive source of entertainment and progression.

Well there are still abilities I’m sure everyone wants to see in the game.

I really hope we’ll get rune of Time Warp and rune of Ancient Hysteria at level 60 (since Bloodlust would be shaman only, hence horde only)

If the raids are balanced properly for it, why not.

Personally, I’m hoping for something that buffs firestone and spellstone. Let the melee lock meme be real.

  • Word of Glory - Paladin
A strong instant heal on a cooldown would be perfect for Holy and even Ret.

  • Death’s Advance - Paladin
DK runes were teased for paladin and I think this one would be perfect over some powerful CD like Divine Steed that would make ranged classes rage.

  • (no name for this) - Paladin
Some rune that works like meta changing how paladin works a little. Make judgment have more range, AP gives some spell power and another ranged ability for Paladin. Make them weaker than a pure melee Pally but let them get more use of their utility and ranged options.

  • (No name for this) - Hunter
A rune that changes up Raptor Strike and Mongoose Strike would be a huge W for melee hunters. Let Raptor Strike not be tied to a auto attack and increase it’s damage a little based on your weapon damage. Mongoose Strike should have a CD added to it (still resets with dodge), deals damage based on your weapon and has a chance to reset flanking strike.

  • Silencing Shot - Hunter
An extra interruption would be nice for dungeons and raids and this would be pretty useful in PvP to stop a caster from CCing the Hunter or their pet.

  • Bladestorm - Warrior
I love to spin sue me.

  • (no name) - Hunter
Some rune that makes Arcane Shot and SS scale off AP rather than spell power. It would be fine with me if it changes AS into a physical skill and SS into a bleed to fit the game properly. This should open up MM more so we see fewer BM Hunters.

With SS doing more damage, that would be huge for Chimera Shot and should close the gap between BM and MM a little so people can feel happy using it.

1 rune that i would LOVE (I do play many alts) that would be a universal rune (one that any class can use)… rune of buffing

equip this rune in any slot (doesnt matter) and all your buffs you cast cost 1% mana and last 2 hours. Effect stays on buff even after rune is removed

I mean, at that point, you may as well just make buffs passive auras that affect the whole raid, which I guess is exactly what they did for hunter’s heart of the lion.
