What rules do you want in Official HC realms

With the announcement of official HC realms, I’m curious about what people think should be either brought over or removed from the community addon, and what changes you’d like to see.

Personally, I would like to see the AH restriction eased up to allowing trade goods only. I’m wanting to craft my own gear, but the classic profession system is too inter-twined at end game. Which is why most people are running Alch/Herb and Eng/Mining. I’m sure Blizzard can actually code this in.

I would also like to see the removal of ‘tagging’. I know it’s an element of classic itself. But there’s nothing ‘hardcore’ about a bunch of people grouped around a spawn location spamming instant casts, praying they get the tag.

-Limit dungeon runs while leveling, weekly lockout perhaps until you hit 60? then you can spam dungeons.
-No Auction house access until level 60, then you have a weekly limit on how much you can buy (ex. 5-10 items a week maybe?)
-No item/gold trading, only profession crafted items allowed to trade (with mats) while leveling and at 60
-No power leveling or grouping with people 3-5 lvl’s above you

-No resurrection
-No accidental PvP flagging

That’s it. Keep the cringe antisocial limitations away from me.

Allow trading of crafted items and mats only. No AH. Daily lockout on dungeons 2-3 runs per dungeon per day until level 50 then unlimited. No xp in dungeons when high lvl characters are in the group. Grouping allowed for quests tagged as group, achieve if you solo it. Allow multi tagging for named quest mobs (the scorpion in valley of trials as example).
No changes to ability to flag, enjoy the danger of PvP.
I’d like to see the achievements the add-on offers expanded on. People seem to love the achievements thing.

I want spirit healers to work in battlegrounds but have there be no pvp rewards.

No res is the only restriction I want generally. For me at least the only important part of Hardcore is survival. And it makes sense to use everything at your disposal for that survival.

if I had to make another rule besides death=delete it would be to fix bubble hearthing but honestly, I think blizz should keep it simple.

Those who want it harder can use the addon or create self rules.

  1. Dying immediately teleports your character to GM Island forever.

  2. No AH.

  3. Trading of resources/crafted items only. (No gold trading)

  4. Put in achievements (IE: Kill Gazz’uz pre level 12/ kill King Bangalash pre 40) These achs would award titles and companions. (IE: “Slayer of the Burning Blade” for Gazzuz / Bangalash Kitten for Bangalash)

  5. All quests that flag for PVP no longer do so.

  6. Make boss quest monsters have a 30-second respawn time.

  7. Make dungeons have 24-hour lockouts. Removed at 60.

  8. Whenever a 60 dies, place a permanent tombstone where they died with their name/option to inspect the tombstone to see what they were wearing/their achievements.

  9. This might be a long shot but make every single profession trainable on one character. (Sort of like how in Runescape, one player has every single profession)

  10. Remove Light of Elune/Bubble hearth.

  11. Remove non-hc friendly raid mechanics and replace them with something else (Burning Adrenaline for example. Hearthing out when you get it is stupid.)

  12. Make kiting and leashing monsters impossible (As soon as the mob runs 200 yards away from its spawn location, it runs back).

  13. Give flight masters an aura that removes all stealth within 5 yards of them.

  14. No appeals of any sort.

I see a few people saying no AH, but allow trading of crafted goods and trade goods. I’m curious as to why you would prefer trading instead of using the AH. Why make people have to camp cities spamming WTS/WTB?

Personal trading promotes community building better than a faceless AH. Most server discords have a crafter section for looking to buy and sell. More character interaction is better, especially given this mode of play is less social. Just my 2 copper.

Death=Delete. No exceptions! Stop doing stupid underwater quests, overpulling etc etc…

If You don’t wanna trade or use AH, YOU won’t. But do not force me to play a single player Game.

You will still be able to use the ADDON and join their community with their rules.

If you remove bubble hearth you should also remove vanish and fd.

1-3 day lockouts on dungeons.

No AH.

That’s all I really care about. Some people have suggested no gold trading but I really don’t think that is necessary. Take out the AH and combined with characters being useless upon death, there is no incentive for gold farmers to infiltrate the server.

What we’re going to get is just death = perma ghost so the discussion is kind of moot.

I think disabling trade, mail, and AH was such a good idea though! Destroys botting / farmers. For this reason I hope the add on community stays strong.

How is no trade no mail no AH a good idea? thats terrible. bots die a lot tf u talking about. And what is the problem if i farm with my main and sell / send things for my alters going faster like a warrior? play your own experience or keep using the addon. Forcing everyone to play like you think is “more hardcore” is very bad.

HC = 1 life.

going full blues won’t make you inmortal, you can still die and loose all the gear you’ve farmed / bought.

elitism needs to be out of the HC server, we don’t care if you beat HC in grays or blues, you will loose that character some day.

Death=Delete. I am not really interested in rules that the HC community has been using. Although if there was one rule I would want it would be no gold trading and no AH.

This way we could still find ways to barter with each other but this would destroy any chance of the gold sellers existing. They would have to resort to boosting and selling crafting supplies on the website. It would be extremely difficult to make any kind of profit and they would give up and move to a normal server.

I would like to see you go to retail :expressionless:

Kills botting / farmers as I said.
