I wish that classes had more support functions.
Like when shadow priests had an ability that when used would heal nearby party members.
I would love similar things like that for more classes. Like a rogue ability that increased party evasion, warlock siphon life that spread out a small % of healing to party members,
Oh and enhancement or elemental shamans having totens that affect everyone in a group etc.
Just more group support mechanisms per class so dps only classes bring a party buff AND a party healing or other constant effect based on their abilities
Nothing that would take the place of a healer but even if the abilities just provided a weak HOT in each person in the party.
Probably raid tank, even LFR. I have done it and I may do it in very rare instances, but I don’t like working with a co-tank. If raids were set up for one tank, I’d do it more.
Up until this expansion, I would do anything but tank. Never could get into it, on any class. I had mained a healer for most of my WoW life, with brief periods of running as dps (ranged and melee).
Ended up more or less cornered into tanking for guild raids this expansion, after having leveled this toon intending to be dps. No time to level anything else when the situation occured, so flipped Blood and had to learn in a hurry.
It’s turned out pretty okay. I really didn’t think I’d enjoy it but now I think I might wanna stick with it indefinitely. It helps that my co-tank is my husband, excellent tank communication has made my guild raids so much smoother. I won’t tank anything outside of guild activities, though.
I have been playing since about 2006. I don’t play tank or healer. Never have and never will. I only play dps and I prefer ranged. I know that I am not a good player to start with and I know tank and healer are a good bit harder than dps. Furthermore, I prefer to play solo. My group experience is usually Normal difficulty dungeons. I did branch into LFR in Legion since I really had no choice because of quest demands. Because I’m really not that good a player, I make a point to try to listen to the tank and healer and, when I can, make their jobs as easy as possible (attack what tank attacks, kill adds, don’t stand in stuff, read up on rotations (Icy Veins), etc.). I have never voted “yes” to kick a tank or healer out of respect for the difficulty. If I’m not willing to do it, I don’t feel comfortable denigrating those who do.
Before this xpac, I don’t think I had ever “seriously” dps’d actually. I’ve healed on my priest since the beginning and used to tank on my pally… This xpac, I decided to try something other than priest and chose a rogue. Ended up loving it and have played it nearly non-stop this xpac.
Now, I’m getting into my DK, both DPS and tanking! Fun stuff.
