With everything you know about classic WoW, from 0-10 what would you rate Classic WoW? and what can be done to raise that rating?
7.8/10
Give us some info on sub-phases like the STV fishing tourny.
Find a way to reward PvPers during the 6-9 month PvP drought from release till pvp phases.
Edit: Guys, you are not rating the product/gameplay. You are giving a rating based on how you feel about the game using the information we have been given thus far. Sorry for the confusion.
Rewards for pvp in Classic wonāt do anything good. Phase 1 will not have much vertical gear progression. Thatās why pvp gear is behind rep grinds that come in later phases.
That said, I have to play a game to rate it. And thereās no point to rating Vanilla at this point since ratings canāt explain how impactful it was for its time.
Far as I can remember? Hard to rate it, since I have no real MMOs to compare it to. That said, Iāll need to compare to other types Iāve enjoyed ārecentlyā since context makes it interesting in my mind.
Vanilla Overwatch: 8.3/10. Loved the heck out of it. Current Overwatch: 4/10. Tilts me off the edge of the earth; slowly learned to hate certain characters. Brig and Sombra ruined this game for me. (Stopping before I rant.)
Apex Legends: 7.8/10. Super fun when you donāt get screwed over by bad gun RNG, no-regs or grenade spam.
Path of Exile: 6.2/10. Used to like it a lot more, but the short-lived character relevance has wore me out over the past several years.
Risk of Rain 2: 6.8/10. A fun game to pick up and play, but is early access and missing a whole lot of tuning/content.
Legion WoW: 7.1/10. Far from perfect, but it was playableā¦at least for awhile.
Vanilla WoW: 9.4/10. Unmatched character progression, combat that felt amazing for its time, and an immersive world you still canāt find anywhere else.
The more they added characters, the less I liked the game. They just kept adding more characters with annoying mechanics to deal with.
As for classic WoW, Iāll have to hold judgement. I didnāt play until BC so never played vanilla. I did play the Blizzcon demo and it was about what i remembered but that was over a decade ago now so my memory on it might not be the greatest.
How can I rate something that doesnāt exist yet?
What I know about Classic is what Iāve been told. What Iāve been told about Classic that I can rely on is what Iāve been told by Blizzard. And Iām certainly not complaining, but what Iāve been told by Blizzard isnāt enough to rate the product.
I have high hopes for it. I believe itāll be awesome, and it seems theyāre going about it in the best way possible. I appreciate their hard work and efforts, and for doing it in the first place.
Come back and ask again a few weeks/months after release, after weāve driven it around the track a few times and shaken out the bugs
Blizzard is doing a decent job. I liked their content plan before they switched it though. They listened to private server people and streamers who dont really know what they are talking about to be honest. I would say 9/10 classic streamers never even played retail vanilla.
I knew blizzard would change up their original content plan though for one that can be dragged out longer for more sub money. Iām sort of worried if it drags on too long i will lose interest between waiting for new content.
8/10 as a sandbox its really fun but I would say BC and Wrath had more fun content. And by sandbox I mean it just felt like a world you can most immerse yourself in and roleplay in and just be yourself, you know actually be an rpg.
I started to feel like that was lost when we stopped being the ā40 random heroesā and everyone became āthe chosen oneā and the wielder of Ashbringer and the leader of the Ebon Blade and all that fixed storyline nonsense.
Vanilla on the other hand, which is what I assumed you are referring to; gets a 9.5 from me ā and I only deducted the 0.5 because I donāt believe in scoring 10 for any game.
