What Races Have the "strongest" of each class

For every playable race, which race is most proficient at being each class. I think it would go like:

Warrior - Orc/Maghar; Between the orc clans and Broxigar, I’m taking orcs as my pick here
Paladin - Lightforged Draenei; Literal supersoldiers that have modified their bodies with the light
Death Knight - Undead; This once is tricky but perhaps being undead already gave them prior experience with necomancy
Shaman - Tauren/Dark Iron; This one was again hard, but it for me its between the Tauren who lorewise might be the first shaman, and the Dark Iron who have a direct connection to the elements much like the lightforged example.
Hunter - Troll; Trolls seem like one of the most durable races in wow, and being a rugged hunter suits them the most imo
Demon Hunter - Really can go either way
Druid - Night Elf; Learned directly under Cenarius + Ysera and Malfurion
Rogue - Undead; another tricky one but the shadow magic aspect of undeads lead me to believe they would be the best for this. Goblins and gnomes are another consideration however
Monk - Pandaren; self explanatory
Mage - Nightboure; Strong arcane lore and elves were the first magics if my knowledge is correct
Warlock - Orc; Orcs quite literally have demon blood in them, making them a strong case for the warlock class
Priest - Night Elf; Very strong connection to one of the only confirmed deities in wow, Elune

I have to disagree with your pick for shaman re: Dark Iron, only because their history has them enslaving the elements rather than working in kind, they have only recently started communing with the elements as partners.

I’d probably lean more toward Wildhammer Dwarf (Gryphon riders) or Kul Tiran (partnership with the Sea/Storms) for Alliance shaman pick. (if any)

Off the top of my head, I’d probably pick best ‘flavor’ classes:
Warrior: Orc/Tauren and Dwarf
Paladin: Blood Elf and LF Draenei
Death Knight: Undead and Human
Shaman: Orc/Tauren/Troll and Wildhammer/Kul Tiran
Hunter: Troll/Tauren and Night Elf/Dwarf
Demon Hunter: Night Elf (if we’re just picking one)
Druid: Night Elf
Rogue: Undead and Dark Iron
Monk: Pandaren
Mage: Nightborne and Human
Warlock: Orc and Void Elf
Priest: Undead/Troll and Night Elf

Everyone is different though and there’s usually lots of lore available to justify any available class/race combo pick, so I’d say play what you like and what story feels right for you.

For Druid, I would have said Worgen, since even non-druids can shapeshift.

How about this - strongest lore character/race in each class?

Death Knight - Since they’re literally Undead, it would make Undead the de facto winner, but by initial race Humans win. Arthas, Mograine x2, Rivendare, Thassarian, Trollbane, Bolvar, Whitemane … It’s a list of Humans. Nazgrim and Teron Gorefiend can get some love, but it’s not going to make this even close.

Demon Hunter - Illidan, and by extension, Night Elves. They’re all the prominent ones.

Druid - Night Elves in a landslide. Forget for a moment they dominate the Cenarion Circle, and they learned directly under Cenarius, Malfurion alone is enough to dominate this. They also get credit for Fandral. Biggest competition? Hamuul? Loti? It’s not even close.

Hunter - Blood Elves, but it’s tougher than I thought. You could persuade me otherwise, but Alleria, Vareesa, most of Sylvanas’ story, and Halduron pack a pretty powerful punch. Undead takes part of Sylvanas (the more powerful part), and part of Nathanos (empowered as well, though part of his story is as a human) and some Dark Rangers. Mentions go to Rexxar (though Half-Orc isn’t exactly going to win anything), Hemet and the Dwarves, Shandris, and Huln I guess.

Mage: Humans. Jaina? Antonidas? Khadgar? Aegwynn? Some of Kel’Thuzad? Part of Medivh? They might beat the rest of Azeroth combined. Kael’thas, Rommath, Sunstrider, Umbric, Thalyssra, Half of Cho’gall, the rest of Kel’Thuzad? It’s closer than you’d think.

Monk - Pandarens. That’s not really a competition.

Paladin - Humans. Uther, Turalyon, Tirion, part of Arthas, part of Alexandros, part of Bolvar. Probably Draenei next with Yrel, and some Vindicators. Liadrin gets a passing mention I guess.

Priest - Humans I think. Anduin’s probably the most powerful, with Tyrande second, followed by Velen. Honorable mentions to Natalie Seline and Talanji? A bit hard to pick a winner, but partly because of bad guys like the Scarlets and Benedictus, and good groups like the Argents, I’ll go with Humans. I could easily be convinced to go with Night Elves though. There’s an argument for Trolls, but I think they lack the firepower.

Rogue - Humans I guess, but I’m not exceedingly confident. Shaw, Tess (Human potential!), both VanCleefs (and Defias), plus Ravenholdt seems like a win. But some of the best are Valeera (Blood Elves), Maiev (Night Elves), Voss (Undead), Garona (Orc). Humans by a nose.

Shaman - Orcs. Thrall, Drek’Thar, part of Ner’zhul, Rehgar, Geyah, and even Zuluhed. Tauren and Trolls can fight for second. It’s a little unfair because the Alliance didn’t have Shamans to begin with, but the Horde didn’t have Paladins, so it balances out.

Warlock - Draenei. Hate this choice, but Kil’jaeden and Archimonde are both Warlocks (so is Malchezaar). Gul’dan and part of Ner’zhul make Orcs close (heck even throw in Flamescowl, Nethekurse, and part of Teron Gorefiend), but it’s not enough, even though it should be.

Warrior - Orcs. Blackhand, Broxigar, Saurfang, Durotan, Eitrigg, Garrosh, Grommash, Kilrogg, Bladefist, some of Nagrim, and Orgrim (among others) seem like a win. Humans have some with two Wrynns, Trollbanes, and a Lothar, but if they are second (uncertain) it’s not that close. In an amusing note, Taurens get a wash by having a plus in Cairne and a minus in Baine.

Final Tally of my completely opinion-based list:
Humans - 5 (Death Knight, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue)
Night Elves - 2 (Demon Hunter, Druid)
Orcs - 2 (Shaman, Warrior)
Blood Elves - 1 (Hunter)
Pandarens - 1 (Monk)
Draenei - 1 (Warlock, but in protest since it should go to Orcs)

Fire criticism away.

Strongest Class Ranking? Kinda Lame, because its depens on the writer, in warhammer you can do such a thing, in dnd even so, but in warcraft?

I´ll try

Demonhunter: Nightelves
Druid: Night elves
Priest: Light: Veleen, Elune: Tyrande: Loa: Talanji (Every priest/cleric have its own deity/beliefsystem)
Deathknight: Human
Paladin: LF-Draenei/Draenei
Warrior: Orc
Mage: As a race? Elves, as individuals: humans
Shaman: Tauren
Rogue: Undeads
Warlock: Bloodelves as a race, gul’dan as individual
Hunter: Easy, all elves: Alleria, Vereesa, Sylvanas, Shandris, Tyrande, Maiev, no one comes even closs, the most elite units on azeroth in range fight are the elf units.

I would say for Priests, Void Elves would be able to channel the Void literally and transform in ways no other priest dare imagine. So, for disc/shadow priests the Void Elves are your go to people.

Warrior: Night Elf, Orc, Tauren, Troll, Dwarf. Honestly, just the sheer size advantage. Dwarves are strong with a low center of gravity. Given them a shield and a spear and they would be a real problem.
Paladin: Draenei by a very large margin. Unless you count Priestess of Elune as Paladins.
Death Knight: Any race tbh.
Shaman: Wildhammer and Tauren I think.
Hunter: Night Elf, Blood Elf, Troll and Tauren
Demon Hunter: Elf
Druid: Night elf by a very large margin
Rogue: Night Elf. They can shadowmeld
Monk: Pandaren
Mage: Elf and Draenei
Warlock: Elf and Draenei/Eredar
Priest: Night Elf and Undead

I mean if we’re talking just raw lore I think Tauren warriors take the cake.

There’s a great bit in SR where Baine one shots the Dark Ranger. She’s basically a one woman dancing buzzsaw but he finds an opening, tanks some hits and nails her square in the chest.

It’s immediately over. Because a 8 foot tall minotaur hit in her in the chest with a duck mothering oak tree trunk.

Nobody’s getting up after that. If you’re within melee range of one it’s probably already over.

This is always something I’ve thought about even on a non-lore level. Getting absolutely SMOKED by a Tauren would be BRUTAL.

A Tauren monk? Imagine getting a blackout kick from a ~1,000lb humanoid bull. It’d be like getting a boulder to the face.

That is one thing I like about the Warcraft Movie. In-game, it is easy to overlook the size difference and what that means for smaller races.

The number of times I have heard that Night Elves “Are lithe and nimble but lacking in physical strength”

… They are 7-8 feet tall. Most female Night Elves are taller than SHAQ. Take the skinniest night elf with the most narrow, bone thin, bird arms. They are still probably stronger than you are irl. The Warcraft movie was cool that they showed that orcs are big… And being a human warrior in this setting means you need to be smart, because you are not going to win a contest of strength.

Also, as someone who kept and rode horses all her life. Thus has been kicked and bumped and trampled. The idea of a creature with that kind of strength, capable of wielding a large club. Who can swing from the hips, putting their leg strength into the swing… That would be like actually getting hit by a car. Not even an exaggeration.

Give a Tauren a Morningstar, and people would get spaghettified.

The novels pretty much established even high elves had a higher baseline strength than humans.

I dont think we can label races or nations with strongest just by their outliers. It has to be on an average of sorts. We normally ignore major outliers in statistical data so I can’t see why we would focus on them here.

  • Death Knights: NA. I guess magically inclined and larger races have ‘stronger’ DKs, but its all just scourge magic through your veins.

  • Demon Hunters: Night Elves, just by number and training given the 2 options.

  • Druids: Night Elves. Major part of society, teaching right from the source, lifetimes of others to practice. Tauren a relatively distant 2nd.

  • Hunter: Trolls. They’ve been shown as more nimble and in tune with nature than most, knowing and relying off the land. Night Elves, Blood Elves, Orcs, Tauren and Dwarves all get honorable mentions. Hunter is just too large of a catch all.

  • Mage: Nightborne and their cousins. Its a society centered wholly around arcane magic. Your generic mages are going to be some of the strongest there despite some of the outliers from other people like Jaina.

  • Monk: Pandaren. OG’s is all.

  • Paladin: Draenei. The Vindicators devotion to the light, combined with size, and the dreanei’s approach to armor, make them the strongest there. Tauren are a 2nd. Humans actually are kinda bad despite their named characters.

  • Priest: Dreanei. Devotion to the light is a center piece to their society with knowledge of the Naaru. Night Elves are split with druids, and troll priests are a hodgepodge of everything from druids to priests to shaman to warriors.

  • Rogue: Forsaken. No need to eat, sleep, breathe, or anything. The perfect spy and stabber. Not to mention whatever god awful poison they’ve made. Just need to hide the rotting corpse smell.

  • Shaman: Orcs. Its been their thing for a long time and continue to make it an important aspect of their people. Tauren a close second but their split between druidism and shamanism doesnt really overtake.

  • Warlock: Forsaken. One of the only societies, if not only society, that does not actively repress the study or knowledge of fel and shadow. While Orcs and Blood Elves and Humans all have some noteworthy folks, its a repressed and hidden study.

  • Warrior: Tauren. As mentioned above you can’t beat the size factor. Orcs can be a relatively close 2nd, as with Night Elves, Dreanei, and trolls, all on their own merits but tauren are winning out.

Most of the these list I agree with, accept I would say it’s a tie with the druids. Worgen druids are the literal cursed offspring of a Wild God. That gives them a pretty big advantage. :wolf:
