I put in the additional comment for humour (Hence the smiley faces to assist the mood setting) towards what always tends to be replied on when I remark Nathanos models for the Forsaken Undead.
Wasn’t directed at you personally, apologies if it was regarded as such. I was just conveying the statement in general.
If you want the truth most of the allied races should have been racial customizations and they made a big mistake not doing that. Insuring that all the races add something new to the the faction they go to or are just completley unique would have gone a long way in insuring people did not have a sour taste in their mouth about allied races after bfa. Keeping with what we already got I would say Nightborne, Kul tiran, vulpera, Zandalari, Velf, stayed then also add Jinyu the Nzoth ritualist things, sethrak and tortollan since they were all relevant then everything else was just more racial customization. Plus the gilbins on goblin for good measure.
You know I keep going back and forth when it comes to Furbolgs. Like they are bear people, so I do think it’s possible for Furbolgs to end up becoming a Pandaren customization option, but the models are different and a part of me thinks that Furbolgs should be playable over a customization due to their history.
The Brokers we see in Oribos. They could be wearing the costumes of the original Oribos brokers, or of the Enlightened brokers. I’m sure they have a different name than Brokers, as that sounds more like a profession than a race name.
Another race that would be truly original are the Attendants. Again, they probably should have a different name than this. No other model would even come close to a floating blue vapor. Truly original!
Frostborn Dwarf skin options for regular Dwarves (Light blue color)
Man’ari Eredar skin options for regular Draenei (Corrupted red skin color + Corrupted orange skin color + Corrupted purple skin color + Green eyes color)
Dragonmaw Orc skin options for regular Orcs (Grey skin color variations + Yellow eyes color)
Forest Troll skin options for regular Trolls (Green skin color)
Ice Troll skin options for regular Trolls (Blue skin color + White skin color + Red eyes color)
Grimtotem skin options for regular Tauren (Black fur color + Red warpaint color + Blue warpaint color)
San’layn skin options for regular Blood Elves (Very white skin color + Deep white skin color + Light grey skin color + Deep grey skin color + #d0a03e skin color -a kind of yellow - + #FFF5C3 skin color - a kind of yellow - + Red eyes color + Orange eyes color + Some Bat-Style ear options)
But I’m not against to get them as allied race too.
I know it’s not true dragon maw but you can kind of get away with dragon maw now on Maghar since the yellow eyes are no longer linked to black rock, you can do grey skin and yellow eyes.
Still believe more customization is better though and would like to see an official dragon maw
Speaking of Taunkas, for Taunka fans who wish to be able to transform into them, there’s this one toy from Wrath Time-walking that you can buy from the vendor called Will of Northrend, I think.
It turns us into three of the different possibilities, one is Taunka, the other is a Frost Dwarf with pretty glowy blue lightning and the third one is a Vrykul.
I like that toy and keep it in my toy-dedicated action bar because I love the Frost-Dwarf look which reminds me so much of Ulduar, Halls of Stone and Halls of Lightning.
I would rather see more customizations for the races we have right now. The Man’ari skin tones would give the Draenei more customizations since they lack in that department compared to other races. (Even Lightforge has options the base race don’t have) They are also the only race after the first class combo revamp to not get a single new class before MoP. The Red skin tone would open them up to getting a sect of warlocks to the race.
As for the OP, I agree with most of what players want should be customizations then actual playable races at this moment of time. They need to pull a Vulpera for the Alliance when it comes to races if they ever go that route making factions have different races that can only be played on one side.
I much prefer the AR system then just adding customizations like this. Not only can they give culture to the new races, but it just helps keep those cultures more intact then mixing it with existing races.
Also we would do well to avoid further controversies such as alliance dark rangers by keeping the other races seperate, as well as it allows a chance to use existing model rigs to the other factions.
